  1. How about a capstan petrol winch or chainsaw winch?
  2. Reckon it will be hard work lifting timber high enough clear of the ground for gravity to do it's bit? Cut to waste, skidding winch or log chute

    Considering getting a 560xp or xpg, can anyone tell me if there is a notable weight difference between the two saws. I have a 357xpg at the moment and it feels a good bit heaver than the no heated handle model? Thanks:thumbup1:
  8. lob your rope over two limbs at the same height, limbs on wellys point away from each other so helps keep your rope near the stem

Can anyone recommend a woodchip boiler or log boiler for use in a domestic property please, a unit that is very basic and perhaps requires manual loading of woodchip and would replace an oil boiler. I have searched the internet but become a bit bamboozled by all the info. If anyone has or uses a good simple setup I would be interested to learn the detail. Thanks in advance Brett:thumbup1:
  16. Used one recently it had 1950kg stamped on the side, you knew you had it in tow!!
  17. I found the Avon tyres fitted as standard to Ifor, didn't last long and would soon go egg shaped and blow out. I have Kumho fitted now and they are much more durable!

  19. Thanks again for your reply My fault, I don't think I explained clearly enough, I refering to shims fitted behind the bearings when replacing the bearings on the rotor. Regards Brett
  20. Thanks for your reply and advise. I have replaced the bearings is there ever a need to fit shims to alter the anvil gap?

  23. Do the shims just increase the blade/anvil distance, I have fitted new bearings and even with no shims the gap is 4-5mm, how do I get the 2mm recommended?

  25. That looks moist, we have done a lot of scrub clearance on wet peaty mires, it's amazing where you can get a fire to burn!! Are you burning in a tin boat??
