  1. Think that tractor is way under powered for that chipper, a self contained unit at 600hp + is more like it!!
  2. good idea, you can use it to scratch your back while you are splitting
  3. This aint your new generation shoddy husqvarna, this is the real deal, when Husqvarna were way ahead of any other saw manufacturer IMO.

  5. Has anyone used one or bought one of these yet?
  6. Everyone has there own methods of reaching the same desired finish, I like the roller idea, using gravity to your advantage, that's what efficient dismantling is all about, I am sure someone wont mind slanty logs!!
  7. Is it petrol or diesel what's it like on fuel, just recently got a Volvo V50 diesel and with 6 speed get around 55 mpg and cheap road tax
  8. The tree was a dead cedar which needed to be sectioned felled to avoid damaging the close by lake clay liner. I did consider using a bore cut, but the tree was dead and cedar is short grained and brittle at the best of times so I didn't want the limb to tear and fracture towards me so I opted for a tight gob and fast cutting from the back, I was using a 357 with an 18" bar. It really did go with a crack and bang with all the extra weight of the snow. I must admit my arse was nipping a bit as I was proceeding with the back cut, good adrenaline rush though.
  9. What size are you running for the landy, and do they carry a heavy load well 3500kg gross?
  10. Cheers, got my heart thumping a bit, especially when I saw a ton of snow on the cedars flat top!!
  11. topping a big snowy cedar today!
  12. when the temp is hovering around 0 c it's a wet slimy cold going on, -15 is much nicer as you stay nice and dry!!
  13. Arbor Donkeys Lobber & Sucker Captain Whipeye
  14. Gives you good gas to keep the flames up
  15. Better to build a spiders web as pictured
  16. I was once thinking of building a bay using concrete railway sleepers which worked out at £ 3 a piece about £10 m2
  17. Good vid, at about 1.23 looks like a karabiner being catapulted across the roof tops??
  18. I use a JBM 13hp machine, it swivels making it easier to use, quite a productive machine for it's size and uses standard finger teeth which are cheap as chips
  19. That's because they are nice clean uniform looking logs, use a band saw as a firewood processor, end product worth three times as much, you will learn, learn , learn
  20. Difficult to see from the pics, but has this limb self grafted to the main stem, hence the bottle neck?
  21. you might be better off fitting new blades to your top roller or fitting one of the new bottom rollers fitted with blades, instead of the old cast type.
  22. just snap a 2.7m stick off and use that!!
  23. Is the power sharp system aimed at pro's, is it any good?
  24. big hairy thorns in the bottom of a ditch behind a fence down a narrow alley with ten 90 degree bends, ooh and lots of potted plants
