  1. ...All over Caithness but they're not being maintained sadly. You can see why when it's so much quicker to knock in a few posts and staple some wire to them. But they make valuable shelter for stock, e.g. when there are young lambs around. The slabs are darned hard work to manhandle though; they are seriously heavy.
  2. Lovely boards there Mark. Wasn't it Beau - Woodworks?
  3. This guy may be interested in cherry in such quantity
  4. True dat! ?
  5. It's not just the smell and the headaches that concerns me when you guys use pump fuel all the time. Petrol contains benzene and derivatives of; do you know how carcinogenic those chemicals are, even the part-burnt ones? Justify the cost of Aspen on grounds of your health - and that of others. I wonder actually if there could one day be a court case brought by a cancer sufferer claiming that if their employer had fulfilled his duty to protect his staff better he would have supplied alkylate fuel or similar instead of pump fuel and that it is thus his fault that the claimant now has cancer (and thus now owes the claimant lots of money).
  6. I've been using Aspen for about that time too and cannot stand the smell of either 2 or 4-stroke pump fuel; yuk.
  7. I hope so Steve: I've messaged a miller on here but not had a reply yet.
  8. Nice Mark. I went to look at a pair of MPs of very different sizes the other day: they're both to go if you're interested in some. The baby's only 12-14"dbh, t'other's more like 24".
  9. Why the fancy shape? Is it to do with structural strength?
  10. If you can be bothered teach yourself some Latin words or get a dictionary or Google them. You can often work out the meaning of names once you know/have looked up the Latin, e.g. angustifolia = narrow (angustus) leaves (folia).
  11. ...In short combat the ill effects of ethanol in petrol. Brought to you by Frost Auto Restoration Techniques!
  12. To be precise - and precision can help in correct diagnosis - CTS can present via tingling and/or loss of sensation in the thumb, forefinger, middle finger and inner half of the ring finger, i.e not the outside one and a half fingers. Loss of muscle mass in the ball of the thumb is also a big clue.
  13. Or keep a couple on the truck, half fill the ones in the garden, carry them out and decant into the trucked ones; saves lifting/moving full bags but still uses them to capacity. Back at base gravity works for you when you unload. I have several half sized dumpy bags that apparently had sand in them. They're brilliant for single person working and really easy to decant into full sized bags.
  14. He's not! Jack, just by doing what you're doing now you're reusing the bags and extending their lives. With not much care at all you can get way more than 5 uses out of them.
  15. If you're only getting through that number go to a builders' yard and grab armfuls whenever you want more.
  16. The learning process will be fast. Be very fussy over the cleanliness of material; absolutely no soil, grit etc. I'm a bit of a hypocrite myself in that sense but I know the price I pay for it.
  17. Obviously I can't vouch for the edge but in terms of dinks that doesn't look bad at all. The acid test is how well the machine is chipping. You soon know when the blades are blunt; the machine stops pulling material in and you get increasing amounts of sliver in the output instead of consistent square(ish) chip.
  18. You could try 6″ Towable Chipper – KING & STEVENS LTD WWW.KINGANDSTEVENS.CO.UK I've never used them, just driven past!

    Andrew Gale .

    True dat.
  20. Brilliant and what a lot of work has gone into it; look at all that brush!
  21. Some autumn colour there. I'd heard of both Latin and English names but couldn't have said what the tree looked like. Stunning.
  22. I certainly do Mark; tell her well done. How big is it? Jon
  23. Latest 'headline' from News Thump; 'Once great nation that put men on the moon unable to get c*nt out of White house.' ?
  24. Glad you came up with the second set of pics; I was going to venture Camellia! I would now venture poplar but not a clue which one of the multitude.
  25. Delabodge is close to there; it may be worth pinging him as he doesn't seem to be on here much at the moment.
