  1. You're all cheating as 'y' in that context is a vowel! Bah humbug!
  2. Let's keep our feet on the ground with this thread and be a bit mundane for once... ๐Ÿ˜Š Wednesday was a cracking day mostly; thoroughly enjoyed splitting some copper beech at this location less than 3 miles from Gatwick. Lovely spot to work.
  3. There have been several offences of criminal trespass for many years but confined to very specific circumstances Criminal Law Act 1977 WWW.LEGISLATION.GOV.UK An Act to amend the law of England and Wales with respect to criminal conspiracy; to make new provision in that law, in...
  4. They're called Rent a Mob for ease of quick and easy reference ๐Ÿ˜
  5. I agree but only because I've been studying pics of Blackcaps and Marsh Tits recently having seen the latter for the first time. The Blackcap doesn't have that chinstrap; the Marsh Tit does. Unlikely to be a Willow Tit; all but impossible to tell apart from a Marsh but much, much rarer.
  6. True. I don't need to go to those lengths to repeatedly lose mine though; the black scabbard and black saw handle do the trick nicely ๐Ÿ™„
  7. All Gomtaro blades fit a Gomtaro and all Natanoko blades fit a Natanoko. Hope so anyway!
  8. Years ago there was a member on here who was rightly outraged that his parents had had most of their firewood nicked. They were in a remote location. In case of the scums' return he dug a shallow pit covered with a thin layer of sticks twigs, dirt etc and filled it with the contents of numerous LA dog poo bins that he emptied for his own use. Excellent!
  9. There is CCTV everywhere, including in the cells.

    Jokes???

I knew a plod whose surname was Pleece.
  11. Sorry, didn't read your attachment.
  12. I have no qualms in using fresh chip out of the growing season. In the growing season I try to use older stuff but I have a suspicion that the nitrogen robbery thing is overstated, especially with established pants; the chip is in a thin layer and composts to a decent degree in a fairly short time but the plant roots are deep. If the prospect nitrogen robbery bothers you I guess you could add to the mulch with manure

  14. @Puzzle Monkey don't give up. My experience is that every user of the timber has a unique opinion on the stuff! Some want it dry, some want it green. Keep asking around. Most don't want rings with knots bigger than 12-14" as the majority of hobbyist lathes can't manage anything bigger.
  15. You're not kidding ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I did enjoy watching the Pick-Up-Sticks!
  16. I think this goes some way to explaining the background today; the Royal/media relationship has changed. 'Don't complain, don't explain' doesn't work any more. Harry and Meghan: What's the media's 'invisible contract' with British royalty? WWW.BBC.CO.UK Prince Harry spoke of an "invisible contract" between his family and media - what does it involve? Obviously I'm a total muppet for even going near the Beeb but I enjoyed the article ๐Ÿ™„ I'm not defending the couple - keeping their mouths shut would have made for a more pleasant life - but it makes sense to see what they've done in a wider context

  18. Just looked it up ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚
  19. Without plugging the saw into the mains try pressing in the safety release button and squeezing the trigger as if you wanted to start the chain running: you should be able to move the chain - use the file on the back of a tooth. This works on my leccy Stihl and I can't see the controls being significantly different with a Makita.

    Jokes???

What the heck is it doing attached to the vid?! It's not meant to be. Me - 0 Teknologee - too many to count
  21. @danthemanwhocan See what happens if you start someone's name with @ and select from the dropdown?!
  22. I don't think there's a treatment for it, especially in such an advanced state. But the tree doesn't become useless to nature because it has a fungal infection. The reduction I was referring to was purely to create physical safety in a slowly dying tree; what you leave will be invaluable to fungi and invertebrates and they are invaluable to larger creatures as food as well as being worthy of conservation just because.
  23. Heard of them; that's a good recommendation - thanks. I have a friend in Henfield for an obligatory cuppa (outside of course). Not such a journey really; ATS are still my arb suppliers. Cheers, Jon
  24. No ๐Ÿ˜ I want the machine for my own place; have just moved house and need to clear a spot for a new shed
  25. Can anyone recommend please? Lewes/Uckfield/Heathfield area preferably. I only need a 13hp machine but I prefer them with sharpened teeth ๐Ÿ™‚ Cheers, Jon
