  1. That looked like mighty hard work! Anyway - been meaning to ask - how's the songwriting going?! 😅
  2. The arrogance of the PO in pursuing the matter years ago is unbelievable. Anyone could see that there was something obviously very wrong going on and I don't mean the postmasters. Dozens of lifetime honest, hardworking folk suddenly filching thousands of pounds from the PO and being arrogant enough themselves to think they'd get away with it? It had 'this is just wrong; the software needs close examination' all over it yet the PO shut its eyes and ploughed on. Terrible for the victims, inexcusable by the PO.
  3. At the point in discussion the guy's just getting in the car; he's not at the wheel, engine running. Of course we don't know his intentions but at that stage and with three on one there's no need to panic - especially with 26 years service behind you! Be alert, be ready for anything yes - jump on him but don't get carried away.
  4. Not worth the risk. All fine (from the operators' point of view) until there's a head-on beside their truck; then - oops.
  5. I'll mark the lawn out in 6" squares and aim for two a day 🤣
  6. Sounds like the stones are a gimmicky substitute for a knuckle, end of a finger or even an elbow pressed into the knot. the tighter the knot the more it hurts until... sweet release!
  7. Take it while it lasts Eggs - tomorrow it'll be back to the usual bitching and backstabbing 😂
  8. I'm glad you found a temporary cure even if you don't know which bit of the beautician's pummelling - how much did that cost you bad boy?! - sorted it. I still think that next time the issue arises you should see a chiro/osteo and suggest a cervical vertebra issue (dunno where I got cerebral vertebra from previously!). At least they could confirm/deny it for you
  9. Numb arms is something for which you should seek professional advice: it often stems from misaligned cerebral vertebrae - I forget which ones. Please don't go adjusting your own neck; if you knacker C2-3 joint you'll stop breathing!
  10. Hello @farmer rod It's been a while; how are you? Jon
  11. Defining your 'local area' might help! Good luck with it
  12. I can't be waiting 5 years for an avo skin to rot! The reason usually given for the slow formation of peat is absence of oxygen but the properties of the moss itself must also play a part. There's no oxygen deficiency in my compost bin though!
  13. Celebrate of course - you're in the club! Many Happy Returns.
  14. I stopped putting them in the compost years ago for just that reason Anyone know what stops lawn moss decomposing?!
  15. Now that one is tempting; me likey 👍
  16. Similar material but free if you can find it is a section of old trampoline safety netting. I use an entire one to line the sides of my tipper trailer for chipping into.
  17. Think you're wrong there but even if you're not - and that would be due to a recent change in legislation - there's the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act that makes past offences 'expire' for court purposes, the date of expiry being calculated according to the sentence passed. 'Expire' in that context means that a sentencing court should not take stale offences into consideration when passing sentence. Also were you ever in the position to be deciding whether to accept a caution or not you'd be forcing a decision on the Police/CPS - charge and put you before a court or take no further action.
  18. 3 days is too long but it's quite normal to feel a bit sore for a day after treatment. Not always of course but it is common. Advice for me for the night following treatment was to drink plenty of fluid and take Ibuprofen at bedtime.

    Jokes???

I download the vid, open File Explorer - the yellow rectangular folder with a blue clip over it on the taskbar at the foot of the screen - select Downloads in that and drag the relevant download into the Arbtalk box Drag images/files here to attach, or choose files... Max file size 1279MB
  20. Only just got here (Feb 5th)! I'm closer to you than Rotherfield - a mile your side of E Hoathly
  21. Using my recent poor track record of id I'll stick with yellowhammer; the cock bird especially doesn't have the black cap of a siskin

  23. Are the harrier numbers creeping upwards? Mick, I know vous êtes en France but I seem to hear mention of hen harriers increasingly often. I saw my first one last year in Caithness and there were a couple of sightings here, near Uckfield, some weeks ago. Your post suggests they're not common there but how rare are they?
  24. ...Totally agree with Lowestoft. That's manipulation and isn't always a good thing. I used to have it on the L2-4 region and the effects were very good but short-lived. Mobilisation (more gentle) done right can be just as effective. The best for me turned out to be the McTimoney method; it works almost exclusively on aligning the vertebrae, the thinking being that if the back's properly aligned the rest will follow. It involves adjusting the vertebrae, sometimes with an adjusting tool that spring loads and 'punches' a vertebra. Needs to be used in skilled hands.
  25. Sigh... you're right again. I didn't think they were that barred on the wings. My eyes are so crap; we have them here! @roboted See correction to my id by Mr Righty Right 😂
