  1. An average 4 for me. The Yanks (remember it's a US app) use some odd words; pinto, intro, leary have all come up more than once in this group of games. Have you tried Quordle or Octordle?
  2. Lol. Oh yeah!
  3. nepia

    Resting Cat!

    How's yours Pete?
  4. Glad you're happier. I'm good; very little tree work nowadays, some firewood selling. Otherwise enjoying an acre and a half of garden and woodland in deepest East Sussex
  5. Nice Mike. Hope they do well for you. How are you keeping? Jon
  6. Mick, my take on the game is that a 4 is a perfectly acceptable average. That was my score today. Father-in-law in 3, bro-in-law in 2 with just one green letter in his first go!
  7. One of our two mogs is a mole catcher; she had three last year, all from the garden. Bless her but I wish she'd leave the blue tits and wrens alone; she's even had a couple of goldcrest in her time 😡 Thankfully she's calmed down with age so we're actually nowadays talking about half a dozen birds a year but nesting season is upon us with fledglings to follow... She actually had one yesterday but was soft mouthed enough to release it unharmed when shouted at; did the same once with a fledgling nuthatch
  8. A comment re Protos helmets: the earmuffs are crap. A few minutes chipping and your ears will ring. As recently discussed on here they can be replaced with SNR32 Peltor 4A muffs but you'll need the wishbones too as a separate fitting for them to attach to the helmet
  9. Don't know whether you're speaking generally or were prompted by my unfocussed shot; it's a Magnolia!!!
  10. Thanks for trying but that goes right over my head. I'll ask a youngster next time they're here
  11. Yep, course it is. Well done
  12. Thanks for trying but that's gone over my head. You do appreciate I'm on a desktop now but play the game on my phone?!
  13. Not sure about the bark but the leaf suggests Osmanthus Cut a couple of stems back hard and see what happens
  14. Wow; turning compost - such an evocative subject. At least we now know how to wind up a fellow member in the future. 'I bet you turn your compost. DON'T YOU; DON'T YOU'! I'm a turner. There - I've said it. I may not be proud but it's me. I do it to aerate; sometimes I generate new heat by doing it so it's not all bad. But I'm also a no digger of woodchip veggie beds so please forgive me the error of my ways
  15. Share with what to get it on here? I share with several other phones via WhatsApp
  16. If we're talking quick growing Kiwi stuff how about Pittosporum? Grown as large hedging over there and is salt tolerant as far as I know. A bonus is the very strong and sweet nighttime scent from the tiny flowers that moths love
  17. Wouldn't have a clue hoe to publish here from my phone but did today's in two 😁
  18. Just one job or your actual occupation?
  19. Daleks work well in the sun. Got five of them and try to rotate but find I fill them all so occasionally tip one out, mix it up and re-load it. Obvs this is in a garden, nothing commercial scale. Yes, yes, yes to a moderate amount of grass clippings - they're what make your heat
  20. Biggest ivy stem I've ever seen
  21. I do Wordle, Quordle, Octordle (often including Sequence and Rescue), Worldle (with sub-games within), Travle and Connections. The last is a real headscratcher: 16 apparently random words that can be grouped into four x four sets. Boy are some of the connections tenuous
  22. I'll try one later in the year when I'm feeling a bit down ☺️
  23. Amusing but worryingly possible. If any water company executive dares cry 'water shortage' this side of July 2025...
