  1. Same here. Whenever I was at my logstore a few years ago there seemed to be at least a breeze; not so much now - there seem to be more still days
  2. Yep, spot on; logs are taking forever to dry this year. In fact I've found them being harder to dry for the last three years or so for some reason but there could be local environmental changes causing that And things aren't going to get better any time soon! The stilling: global wind speeds slowing since 1960 EC.EUROPA.EU Few people have probably noticed, but the world’s winds are getting slower. It is something that cannot be picked up by watching the billowing of dust or listening to the rustle of...

    Jokes???

    Four Shades of Brown
  4. I've heard of such things before but never myself felt the need; I generally grab a branch off the pile of brush to be chipped and use that. If potential blocking is a recurring issue I simply feed in less each go. All of which seems utterly logical to me. What does help (with my M300) when chipping small conifer brush is to feed the branches the wrong way round if you can: the green slows the drum more than the stem so feeding the green with the drum at maximum revs helps with throw of the chip

  6. Good work as ever 👍
  7. That's a horrible freak accident. Poor guy and family
  8. My mate and I were going to work near Bromley today but the forecast changed between 7.45 and 8.30 this morning! No problem to do the job another day so he forewent the pleasure of slip sliding around a large cherry
  9. Ash will burn indeed. Remember that the smaller you split the logs the tighter they'll pack and less will be the airflow. Something to consider. But with ash - not a problem
  10. And take plenty of pics before, during and after, especially of those precious Leylands
  11. Love the finish on Nessie; took some time!
  12. So what is the pic? One satellite on time lapse? You can see loads of satellites on a clear night although that one is very bright; you just need to look for moving stars that obviously aren't planes!

That's the guy - Dave is his first name. @Arboraeration
  14. I thought it was time lapse of a single satellite. If not what's going on?

If I'm thinking of the right chap you may want username similar to @arboaeration on here: I thought that was his name but no such name comes up from the list of possibles. Can anyone pin the name down?
  16. Just out of interest what is a slutpriser (just above the map)? ☺️
  17. Do the branches have a small number of thorns? The leaf and flower is looking very much like Elaeagnus x Ebbingei. I've never seen one that size but I'm not aware of anything that says that if a specimen was left alone it couldn't attain it
  18. Frank Matthews' plants are excellent quality in my experience; I bought four apples and a plum earlier this year and they're all in fine fettle. I've seen many others of theirs in the past too - always good
  19. That may be true, I don't know, but one reason they thrive on dunes and sand is that they can manage there where others can't; sea buckthorn doesn't take competition
  20. I'm puzzled too
  21. Maasdam bought from the States. All costs were up front; it was like buying from any other online shop
  22. I'd say good old Lawson's. I think the fresh cut wood smells like a cross between lemon and vanilla; ring any bells? Woolly stuff until it matures (several decades), then the heartwood can be as hard as iron
  23. SRT; sixty rope technique?
  24. Working with you must be fun you twat 😂
