  2. I've clocked a few miles looking at mogs, well buying! I remember the first time , heading off myself about 5 am with a giant rd atlas and no clue where I was going and I accidentally found Alec's yard, his old 1 by the river in that tiny village, High Bentham I think. The last 2 I bought off the internet, save the journey. Mog men are cool to deal with imo:) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  9. It's rot and codit. Is there damage on the base of the stump? The codit is the trees defence system against rot. The split is just shake, I presume the tree had a lean or a lot of side weight. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  10. You would have the debt and it would be up to you to make the payments. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  13. It's % thing. If it's your only vehicle then even going to the shops is private use. Be realistic and then knock a little bit off aswell to be on the safe side . You can make up whatever you want, when the day comes you are sitting across a desk from the tax man, honesty is the easiest policy. I'm with Colletti:) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. I've only seen the part in the water! Amazing acting and really showed how quickly it can all go wrong. Opened my eyes for sure!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. It used to be £45k, and 15% when I first registered. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  17. I didn't say you had to, I said you could. Some view going vat reg not as a saving to their business but a risk to loosing customers. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I was being ironic On phone so no wee roll eye faces. Tbh the way your chute angle is from the chipper isn't helping, this is going to create a splatter pattern of chip, a nice swan neck is what your after Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. You can reduce your normal fee by the % diference on what you spend and charge on vat . So if going vat reg saves you £5k a year, divide that into your turnover, get the %, take it off your day rate then add 20% for the vat. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  22. Because it's too long! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. Only rig big if you have a good competent groundsman. You are not there to perform miracles, take charge of the job. If those little plants are in the only drop zone, they need to come out. Don't put yourself in a position where you are going to do damage and be held liable. Pics would help. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. Listen to Joe! If your own a big fat stem, say 3-4 feet or more . Don't try and push off a big ring horizontally, slice away at about 10-15 degrees from vertical , when the cut starts to close power through or have a little wedge in a string to put in it( never needed to personally) then the slice falls away in the direction you have chosen, it also falls and lands on its edge, not tumbling down picking up momentum. Forget your spider jack, get a friction hitch on there. I've never rigged a slice in 16 years doing this job. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  25. You 2 remind me of the cartoon Sharky and George!! Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
