  1. I'm now in the kitchen having tea and brioch tolls toasted with jam and honey. The birds are going for it here to.
  2. Been awake now for about 30 mins. I've a large woodland job starting next week and I'm climbing and felling everyone in my head, planning logistics with machinery and generally excited about it:) Oh and the winds howling high above the house.
  3. Hi, I upgraded both my phone and iPad and have been having problems with Wi fi. The screen would come up with upgrade my flash player Knowing flash doesn't work on these I clicked, no thanks, and it said unable to perform or something similar, so I clicked install and it said the same. If I turn Wi fi on and off, it works for about 30 mins and then stops, same with Utube BUT arbtalk always works! It's the same on my phone. Should I un install flash from my laptop, then install a new 1? Any help appreciated.
  4. Cracking pics, very impressed with the lowering techniques. As you say, no need for words!
  5. If your saw is cutting straight then having the optimum bar size is a pleasure and just cut twice the width. I run 026's with 13" bar, powerful and aggressive, 15" bar it drops my enthusiasm to use it by 80% I reckon. 046 with 25" bar, a pleasure. And I've never ventured more. Tried a 066 with a 30" bar and I was back bored and frustrated. 088 with 36" bar , very sharp a pleasure, not very sharp it like racing an old square shaped Volvo! If your just using it for firewood and a pretty easy going guy, put as big on as you want and plod on through, when your in a tree and want to thump off something big without it barbers chairing on you, keep it minimal.
  6. My mate got over taken by a cherry picker he was towing, he rammed it off the road and ended up in a hedge!
  7. When I first started it was a harness, rope, side strop, 2 Prussik loops, 1 fro rope, 1 for strop and a short bit of rope for my saw. Only thing different now is a rope grab on my strop and a rope guide.
  8. Stay on track please or this thread will be closed
  9. Safe home, I find it very therapeutic to post a mini disaster on here just after it happens, I actually look forward to the replies, a problem shared as they say. Safe home:thumbup1:
  10. I'll have an artic load in a couple of weeks, I've googled the distance and it's about 240 miles from the site to Malton yorkshire
  11. Contact Peteb at Greenmech, I got a safetrak for that money a couple of years ago, awesome chipper in great condition.
  12. Hi Yeti, nice to see your still about:thumbup1: Your a big power guy, or are you know 11 stone:confused1: Be interested to hear your story of this diet:001_smile:
  13. Now I enjoyed that! That was brilliant and what a soundtrack! It fitted your style perfectly! That rigging was genius:thumbup1: I'm going to watch that again:biggrin:
  14. If the lawn is just old and there's nothing wrong with soil or drainage then I'd cut it into the ground, rotovate , rake level, roll, sand then turf. All ground condition dependant though.
  15. Once doing big leggy ash trees in the snow, trees were covered in ice and they were reacting very strangely when cutting, I wasn't used to it and it freaked me out. Took about 10 mins to accept I was bottling it, came down and beat myself up for days! The snow all melted, the sun came out and I returned a week later and 3-4 cuts, 15 mins from start to finish and job done! Felt like a super hero again
  16. Life lesson, it's not fair, they did you a favour, now you don't have to post a thread about not getting paid for going a load of work! Move on and focus your energy on better things like family or things with wheels
  17. The person selling it should have it measured already, that way you both know where you stand.
  18. The trees will be fine, that's just a tickle! Seriously though, that is some bad strimming, you wouldn't of known he'd been there going by the long grass. He's sure to finish them off with the mower though
