  1. Never ceases to amaze....that guy swinging his axe topping out. Just inches away from his strop!
  2. Looks good to me if slightly garish. Is it laid dry with some sort of interlock?
  3. I did a job for a Polish acrobat who could do that. Nice girl:001_tongue:
  4. Had exactly same problem with mine. Balance belt snapped and threw cambelt out a couple of teeth. Crank pulley was knackered too. Took us a day to pull apart and fix.
  5. Spring is sprung the grass is riz I wonder where my trousies is.
  6. Mine's the Lydham oak. Mediaeval pollard est 500-700. Oldest one I felled dated back to 1740 on a ring count.
  7. Quality. Top work:thumbup1: How much for the job lot? Interested in them.
  8. That's fine until little Tommy gets splattered by a piece of 'managed' dead wood. I'm ok with it but a good lawyer would go to town on it. Where do you draw the line? I wish I knew.
  9. I don't. Younger women and enduro bikes are the secret
  10. Must be the oldest here. Climb most days and don't think I've slowed but geez do I ache sometimes:001_smile: 53.
  11. In a word....no. You need to be VAT registered to charge VAT on your invoices and to register you need to be earning over the threshold. It also depends on earnings per quarter. Start to go over the threshold in consecutive quarters then they'll start looking at you. I'm sure someone here will come up with a better explanation than mine though.
  12. I'm just about fed up with all this. Never had a problem with the old protected list; in fact have always gone out of my way to ensure I've never disturbed nests etc. When it comes to crows, maggies, grey squirrels then I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Fed up of sitting back and allowing woolly-brained, pc busybodies push for bans on everything they don't like. If they don't like hunting, shooting, fishing then tough. They even want to take our trail riding away. That's it...rant over. Sorry about that:cursing:
  13. Too late in the year now for hedgelaying unless the job's for next back end.
  14. Check out this Korean lad. One of my favourites. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRWU2DysF30]YouTube - Canon in D - Sungha Jung[/ame]
  15. I worked on the Lydham oak in the mid-eighties and started the process with a light reduction on some of the heavier limbs. Re-pollarding this tree would have ended in tears I think. Unfortunately the old owner died so I don't know if any more work was carried out. Lost my pics of the tree. This one must date from the forties I guess. The girth of her now is about 41'.
  16. Every time I go past a golf course I have an overiding urge to blast the dirt bike through it. I know I need help but I can't help it:devil-smiley-017:
  17. You should be able to get similar discounts at most Stihl dealers.
  18. Just imagine this upside down.
  19. Found a piece of shrapnel when we worked in South London after the big storm and once cut an oak with a .303 bullet in it. Shaved through perfectly in half lengthways. Probably left there by the Home Guard.

    customers!!!

Had a guy call wanting a quote for hedgelaying about 20 miles away. Sounded a decent job...which it was and he accepted price. Then phones me to tell me he's got someone else. No problem...leave him to it. Phones me again saying he's got some more work and he thought 'he'd give me another chance'. Stuff you mate!
  22. At last a reply on track! As for the rest of you with your dirty little minds and inuendos
  23. If you don't that flying handle will take your head off.
  24. Busted.....gonna have to come out now:laugh1:
  25. You must have been curious then:sneaky2:
