  1. Think I'm just clutching at straws hoping someone's going to come up with a miracle solution
  2. My lad passed his test today so I phoned ins co for a quote to add him as a named driver on either the L200 or the Hilux. NFU say that he can't be a named driver and will have to be the main driver of one vehicle. £1500 on top of what I pay for Hilux and no quote for L200. Ironically they can insure him as a temporary driver on either vehicle for £1 per day but it is only temporary and I need to phone each time I want him to drive. Anyone found a cheaper way of doing this?
  3. Yes with Steve from Ad...romania. Romaniacs is full on and respect if you do it. I'd love to have a go but can't afford to write off my bike throwing it up the rocks. Romania is absolutely brilliant with a mediaevel feel and look to some of the villages. I think Paul Bolton's doing an enduro masterclass early next year with Adventureromania which would be a good taster for Romaniacs.
  4. Romaniacs! I wish. That enduro is designed to obliterate both rider and bike. The scenery is awsome with wolves and bears thrown in too. Probably some great places to buy.
  5. But then I see from the pic's its a horrible noise death machine Great aren't they:thumbup1: We used the services of a guide and his bikes rather than take our own. Through the villages kids came running to wave. Farmers waved. Everyone led simple lives yet seemed happy and content.
  6. Just a few pics from a weeks riding in the Carpathian mountains. One of the most beautiful places I've visited. Millions of acres of ancient beech pollards. Just a shame I didn't have more time to explore.
  7. Brilliant:thumbup1:
  8. Pretty sure the recommended distance is 1 metre but can't remember where I've seen it.
  9. Wouldn't have been so bad but line was burnt out on a Friday afternoon and about 30 electricity vehicles and occupants turned up for the o/t and gas main gave way on a Sat morning and those guys were lovin it! I just wanted to wake up from a bad dream:001_smile:
  10. [ 50k in 1988 when 11kv lines down and jam factory freezers heated up. About 25k 1990 when Becker pulled up huge gas main. The noise was like thunder:001_smile: Blame me for high premiums.
  11. Veni, vidi, vici et non est ad astra mollis e terris via. Sooo glad I did latin at school.....not.

    Motogp

Unfortunately two riders in the Manx.
  13. Cut 15m off, splice an eye and you've got a nice rope for all the small jobs.
  14. None of the following are my fault....I just happened to be there at the time and it should be remembered that a man who never makes mistakes never does anything! Big elm down side of house; winchman's fault, big beech straight up middle of road; winchman again, willow through 11kv; fallers fault, beech branch bridging three phases, gas main ripped up with Becker, french windows stump grinding and other less important things in the course of thirty two years. Bad ain't I:001_smile:
  15. Vid. Robbie Robertson:thumbup1: Who's playing the second track....George Thoroughgood?
  16. Ah that sillouhette of a girl cavorting...good for a teenage mind:001_smile:
  17. Get 'em down. DDD.
  18. There are many older properties (pre-war) that were built on footings much less than 900mm. A cottage I owned which dated from mid-1800s was built on brick corbel footings approx. 18" wide and only 12" deep.

Cheers for that. Only seen Perenni around here once years ago. Just wasn't sure.

    Thanks.
  21. Getting Conservation and TPOs mixed up:001_smile: The six months is the time limit for you to appeal via Sec of State. I'll await to be corrected:001_smile:
  22. Is this Perenniporia hosted on oak? The little yellow one?
  23. I thought they had six weeks to reach a decision then you have six months in which to appeal if needed.
  24. Just started. Tree roots and a house.
