  1. Noticed this house today as i drove past. No camera with me so an image off Google earth. Not your usual Laburnum House, Oak Cottage etc. The name reads: American Shellbark Hickory House, 1926.
  2. Haven't got an Efco saw but have an Efco tt180 cut off saw. Been a great bit of kit. Had it about 10 years and it always starts although used rarely now.
  3. Seems to me that it's fashionable now to be politically correct. 'Look at me making a stand against exploitation of whoever'. Who's it offensive to? The girl that modelled, women in general? I'm not sure it works in advertising but I suppose it must. I wonder how many sales Stihl or Pirelli lost or didn't gain because of their exploitaton:001_smile:
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if you're only making £100 on the whole deal. Out of interest does the manufacturer advertise a retail price on the generator? I now buy only from local suppliers if I can for any product/service. Luckily my saw dealer is competitive. Hopefully money spent locally is distributed locally.
  5. I don't know what I would expect to pay because I wouldn't know the trade on it. I know what I'd like to sell it for: 50% mark up to give 30% profit. Realistically I'd knock off 10% and reduce profit by 30%. I dallied for a while in a retail trade where discounts were rife and £500 items were being sold with a fiver profit in them. If they broke then the customer was in demanding spares which involved phone calls and time etc. They'd bring in something they'd bought off a discount retailer via mail order, bragging about the price and asking me to set it up! I'd have happily shot the lot of them.
  6. You're only as old as the bike you ride:001_smile:
  7. I've always thougt TW created a lot of dust compared to other machines.
  8. I've got no idea of the ratio but remember in the heyday of two stroke racing bikes the old TZ expansion chambers seemed to have a very small outlet compared to their cc. Couldn't beat that ear splitting crackle though:001_smile: They seemed to alter in size when mufflers were put on them.
  9. I've used Wildcat tyres on my truck. Good life too. Land Rover & 4x4 Wild Cat Tyres | John Craddock Ltd
  10. I live in an area with a large population of adders although I very rarely see one. I'm always wary when out with the dog as I'm not sure how they react to bites. Interestingly I picked up a roadkill grass snake once and threw it on the back of the pick up. When I returned home I did my usual: let the dog out, dropped the tailgate and the dog jumped on expecting his usual ride. I've never seen a dog move so fast. Trying to get grip on the plastic liner his legs moved but he didn't:001_smile: I suppose he must have had an inbuilt fear of snakes as it took him a long time to regain his confidence with the back of the truck again.
  11. For Midland and SOE Hedgelaying | Wympole & Wratsworth
  12. They taste Lovely, very fungal. Never found one here. Cotswolds is a good area.
  13. Felled a Norway today and it was bleeding like it would in March. Plenty of time left for it to get cold though.
  14. Don't waste your money on YP, police/fire diaries, wallplanners or desk items etc. Church and parish mags are good.
  15. I used to get it on a fairly regular basis. Damn painful for a couple of days. It always seemed to happen/be worse when dismantling ash for some reason.
  16. That would be an easy day with a Carlton 7015. Hire rate here would be approx £200. Charge the job at £800ish.
  17. This was posted on Facebook. From Ronda, Spain.
  18. Just trying to move people away from pop which it isn't:001_smile:
  19. It's Acer triflorum. The rays and the bark have to say so. Look at that third pic and those short rays.
  20. In the third photo the medullary rays don't seem to be indicative of pop.
  21. Interesting piece on an artist using mycelium. Philip Ross crafts furniture from mycelium - SFGate
