  1. yeah i entered the poleclimbing and competed on the friday funnily enough, i came third my best time was 17.25 am really happy cant wait to do more next year
  2. Gutted i missed you will, what day did you go on? Your right the poles were from longleat didn't realise how many big trees the estate have. On a different note why did they have a massive jenz biomass chipper next to the horse loggers, although i was quite surprised how the horses are just not bothered by the noises of the saws.
  3. I kinda like the 338 but see this as a massive improvement on some of the annoying little features like the balance and the oil and fuel now back to the correct positions also the touch of different size handles looks to be a good ergonomic idea.
  4. Try complete tree care they are a job agency that sometimes have international jobs and if the companies are advertising overseas normally means they might help you with visas and the such.
  5. Well spotted masterblaster but i thought i would post because in the first post he mentioned chainsaw or tree:001_tt2:. Anyway i like it, took me ages to decide something and even with the tightest of fitting t-shirts:blushing: still cant really see it. And finally lorry im not too bad with looking at it like that although tempted to get another.
  6. Works going well, heading up to the apf to do a pole climb in a few weeks so should be interesting. Ian said that he is working with you more, cheers for giving him a climb too he was really chuffed telling me of the job up hindhead doing some pines having to jump from one tre to the other or summit. If im free then will try and catch up with you guys, take it easy

  7. well done geoff on the good result from wales bet your chuffed, keep up the good work

  8. i thought spring slade was fully booked out for comp climbers only, i have had to book in at the caravan club oh joy
  9. Try ABC response training, i did a first aid course through them and it was really good very relevant to our industry. I remember the chap saying that he dealt with a lot of forestry contractors too def worth a look.
  10. im going on friday and saturday but struggling to find a campsite, its on the 23-25th september cannock chase and you cant miss it if you have never been. A great weekend
  11. Try Rob D on here, he has travelled to guildford before from new forest so might be worth a go
  12. Just had a quick look and think the husky is about £70 cheaper, will that help sway the decision too?
  13. If your willing to travel to otterbourne then north waltham just out side basingstoke is closer, there is a farm where a few tree surgeons rent either speak to the farm or one of the companies see if you can strike a deal. Its folly farm north waltham, really good as its just off the a303
  14. I got my results for the written papers and passed finally so get to move on to the management exercise whoop whoop
  15. league 1 is where its at come on the tranmere rovers
  16. I love my 90 1986 with a 300tdi, converted to a hard top now just needs a spray job
  17. im hoping to enter the apf as my first pole climbing comp, can you do one or two days or do you have to enter on all three?
  18. I just meant general wood being chipped vibration, like you say could have been loose bolts because when we complained about it the guys in the workshop would have a play then would be better. We found it was a bit of a reoccurring problem though still great chippers
  19. Do you find that the vibration of timber going through the chipper means the red bar constantly moves into reverse? I have used one and someone nearly always had to hold the bar in position apart from that very powerful feed rollers and cant fault the auto feed no matter how big a piece of wood it never died
  20. would really like to as i said at the begining of the year i would make a comp but funds could make it difficult
  21. No one has mentioned the postive side of the grounds person being able to see where the climber may be in a dense tree?
  22. Just to be fair to distributers honey brothers is actually cheaper:blushing: only 25p mind. Justin thanks for t shirt and 338 part rapid delivery:thumbup1:
