  1. I have a meeting in Lawrenny next week , and i will mention about a load of hairy buttocked tree people swinging around in trees. I should be able to sort out a camping area, with fire pit and a nice view, and if you are really good a few trees to climb. The only trouble is i am a long way west.
  2. The saw certainly was not over a £1000 when new.
  3. Sagely words for the young padawan there Lyn.
  4. Try a long extension bar if there is room, it will give you alot more control on the amount of pressure you need to exert. GOOD LUCK
  5. That looks big enough to live in.
  6. Last load of scrap i weighed in, i got £190 for two hours work. You do the maths.
  7. That looks like the flight deck of the star ship Enterprise, are the Klingon on the starboard bow.
  8. I think that each of the strenghts should be given a value, and each of the weakness's a value. Then take one from the other, low value higher risk. It will make it easier for the public to understand.
  9. Naf all, although first thinnings tend to be clearing out racks, the re-spacing is random, down to the cutters judgment. The wood is a mix of natural re-gen, and planted spruce, hence the random bit. I will post some pictures when i am next there. That will be something to look forward to.
  10. It is spear cutting of small runty tree to allow the better ones more space and less competition.
  11. Don't start that one again, there is a time and a place for that.
  12. I'm not going to gloss over the unpleasant nature of this work, apparantly it is good for your sole.
  13. I need a couple of fools for utterly mindless re-spacing this Thursday and Friday near Martletwy west Wales. I won't mention the Brambles and gorse, that can be a nice supprise. P.M if you are intrested
  14. OOOHHH you gone and got your new toy stuck. At least you have done it in style, well done keep up the good work.
  15. Read em and weep hairy arsed tree cutters, I'm Technical middle class
  16. Bring it on, more videos please. Better than watching Laurel and Hardy. (I will let you decide who is Hardy)
  17. Pure filth, you lucky lucky man. When is the vid coming of it in action.
  18. I got a tariff of 30 from table 11 page 112, hence .65m3
  19. Spruce spikey Fir soft Larch itchey
  20. It normally takes until 3ish for Bob to slow down.
  21. We ended using the knocker for the strainers and intermeadiates only. Because of the bendy nature of the fence posts and Chestnuts ability to split easily, and the difficultly of getting the tractor in to 50% of the fence line, all the fence posts were hit in by hand. I did try to source one of those vibrating post drivers to go on the end of a mini digger, but the costs were too high. We did a timed test run with 10 posts, it was 5 minutes quicker by hand. Last 80 meters today, having notched up 2500m. I am going to feel the warm embrace of Sweet lady cider tonight.
  22. After the awfull weather of last week, sunshine. Just a short vid driving the Zetor out to the work site. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBN5qUfvsas]Out onto Stackpole head - YouTube[/ame]
