  1. Currently fisa only have 5 trainers and they are all up north. Helpfull

  4. They have been trying to ban top handled saws for as long as i have been climbing trees.

  6. Clyne valley has some good trees to climb, also some very scary bike tracks/ jumps.
  7. Here lies the problem. As someone who employs people to fell comercially people with tickets and no experience can not fell trees safely. As an instructor there is only so much that i can teach in a week. Added to this the commercial pressures to get it done as quickly and as cheaply as possible....... Do you wonder why we work in an industry with such high accidents and deaths. The solution is simple, pay people days rates to that they do not have to rush and cut corners.

  10. It is probably quicker for you to get to north Wales than me. Go on you know you want to.
  11. In picture one you have to undercut up to the blackline, and then cut down to meet, points are deducted for every millimeter not meeting up, and for every degree outside 90 degrees right angle. You also have to cross cut a log with the bottom 30mm buried in sawdust, points are deducted for every mill left uncut. Bar and chain change against the clock And finnally fell and sned against the clock

  14. You have to do two types of crosscutting, take of the bar and chain and flip the bar, and fell and sned a tree. You loose points for everything, and the rule book is about 40 pages long.

  17. At a guess if you ave lots of brown ends it is one of two reasons: The fire underneath did not get hot enough, or you did not burn it for long enough, or both of the above. Good luck
