  1. Is that a solid cubic meter of timber or a cubic meter filled with logs ?
  2. This is probably a daft question, why do you want to work 400 miles away ?

  4. That would be quite an investment to get a half decent chipper. Might be worth spending a morning phoning around the tree companies in your area to see what interest there is.

  9. just tried to change mine, no joy. Resized the image and made it smaller kb, still no joy. I not know why. That counts me out for any help.
  10. At 258 000 miles my td enginee finally gave up towing 2 1/4 tons of oak planking. Local land rover specialist fitted a 300tdi with new timing belt, and clutch for the grand total of £1500. Including all modifcations to the engine and engine bay.
  11. Looks good, the purists wont be happy with the orange colour though. How good is the turning circle, less or greater than an oil tanker ?
  12. Why do think that stihl bars do not have grease holes ? Because you do not need to. Once you grease a bar tip the grease forms a plug and prevents the oil getting to the bearings. No grease = plenty of oily lubrication on you end

  17. Whats the forwarder fallen into ? By the look of the tracks the forwarder has been driving thay way before. Probably too busy downloading naughty pictures to his phone !

  19. As long as the chimney is about a foot higher than the top of the roof you should be fine. If the chimney is not comming out near the apex of the roof, you will need at least 3 feet sticking out of the roof. If you need more then it will need extra bracing to support.

  21. Sarp chains are the hardest to decipher and get the correct one for your saw, you need the sarp book and the chain box and the ability to cross reference.
  22. I had real trouble shifting 150 m3 earlier this year, most went for cattle bedding. I am now giving away the remainder with loads of logs. Tried some of it last week, not impressed, and the smoke does not smell very nice.
  23. Yes. Delux weathershield priming woodpreserver contains lots of nasty chemicals that will preserve wood for a long time.
  24. I resisted the urge to add any myself. I am just woundering how long other arbtalkers can restrain themselves.
