The borers auger is designed to lift material out, I suspect a re design might be needed. As soon as it stops making forward progress it will want to lift material out so a short "flight length" on a long shaft would be better. Oh and your borer only goes one way so it wont wind the "anchor" out. Make them sacrificial or make provision to extract it.

How hard has it been worked? GC are the kings of subbing work out, and you wouldn't put your tatty truck on a stand would you?

I have been in the Bolton depot on a Saturday morning, the customers were several deep at the counter the poor bugger was on his own and the phone rang and rang without getting answered.

A couple of weeks ago Steve was looking for a bit of feedback on this. I couldn't see how it could be significantly improved, then they added the chance to win a load of kit...genius. I hope anyone using the site will considder a making a donation for the chance of getting your kit back. That amount of work isn't cheap.

I have had a non arb LOLER inspector bring kit for identification. He had been given an load of arb kit to inspect and didn't have a clue what most of it was Ask yourself this, if I were to be handed a piece of kit would I know what it was for and be able to assess its suitability for continued use? -
