  1. Ed (armchair arborist) has just the thing for you, but its in Huddersfield
  2. Your right to abate the nuisance isn't dependant on offering the arising's back.
  3. Hi Steve The point I was trying to make was that many of the comments in this thread were based on the OPs assumption Its worth noting that the alleged offender had asked for the tree to be pruned, it sort of puts the comments about upsetting the bereaved family in a different light Always 2 sides to a story
  4. Have you managed to put a flyer through a competitors door?
  5. That cant be right And the majority of this thread was based on that assumption
  6. There are plenty of contractors with excavator mounted grinders Speak to Justin Kingwell This is right up his street Kingwell Holdings Ltd
  7. Left it like that for your benefit:laugh1:
  8. I think you have underestimated the industry if you recon digger work is domestic. 360's really come into their own on development sites Have you got your Construction Plant Competence Scheme ticket? You cant get in a machine on site without one.
  9. I am a pedant and a pendant,...well I hang off a rope quite a lot:laugh1:
  10. No and No You will ground out and it will become an anchor for a 2wd and a 4wd will pull it through and damage it. The Bowden cables that enter at the bottom of the brake back plate will get ripped off
  11. It really annoys me when they insult your intelligence like that, anything they say afterwards is treated as suspect.
  12. That's utter shyte and typical of the "just made it up" dealer bull. A fixed lanyard is industry standard and they should have made it strong enough to cope. They cant invalidate a warranty on the grounds that you didn't use a bungee lanyard if they didn't tell you it needed a bungee lanyard when you bought it.
  13. Well I am sure they have convinced themselves its right because people do like to customise, but the buckle is wider than the strap and would dig in less. Either way he really needs to do something about that gaffing out or he is going to have no skin left on the inside of his arms:laugh1:
  14. Once you have the first eye I place, you pretty much have to
  15. Its the shanks that are the wrong way round, the buckles are at the back, unless someone has replaced the bottom straps and put them on backwards You can put the pads on any way you want.
  16. Do you think he knows he has his spikes on backwards, I think getting that right would be a vast improvement
  17. How do you figure that? Your job is to do what your client wants done We are a service industry same as cutting grass or dyno rod, give your client the best information you can, allow them to make an informed choice and act on their instructions.
  18. What you said This is me doing a reduction on a Sweet Chestnut:laugh1:

  20. Well said that man:thumbup1:
  21. Get a roof mount
  22. Ummmmm Craig had the only one I ever saw, it was from the states As far a LOLER goes it would be easier to inspect that a splice Work wise it was a lot bulkier than a splice, if you use a mechanical friction device it might be a problem
  23. That made me laugh, he pointed out the "Mercedies AG on the vehicle". I don't know how you could get more stupid than that. The AG stands for Aktiengesellschaft which in Enlish means PLC. It has nothing whatever to do with the vehicle specification. If the Germans were to use initials for AG in the same way we do I would hazard a guess that they would use AW for Agrar Wirtschaft The name unimog is one of these nice German composites, it's UNI as in universal, MO as in Motorised and G as in Gerät which means impliment (in this sense) So as a universal motorised impliment it can be either a truck or a tractor
  24. Apparently, so no science behind it then? What do these additives do to the rope and if it is damaging them why don't the manufacturers warn us about this damage? My ropes seldom see a second year, same with chainsaw pants
