  1. Why would you want one with a crack in it, surely that would be dangerous
  2. Dunno about this. Pretty sure there it some sort of secret pole lath brethren ranked on how much shavings your beard can hold.:laugh1:
  3. Ercol spindles are a good place to start with lathe work, nothing too taxing The cheapest hobby lathe and chisels will see you right Other than that, maybe seek out the local wood turners group. They may be able to help and may even be willing to trade services for timber or show you how.
  4. Yeahhh, leave him alone, he has got an "NPTC" badge after all !!!!!! :001_rolleyes:
  5. Tree on floor, no damage, adequate
  6. You are right, that plumbers cleavage is a bit too much:laugh1:
  7. Ok Hack away but be sure to get under the cambium
  8. Well someone needs suing for that Get mi coat then...............
  9. Can I ask why you want to kill the trees
  10. You aren't nicking it that cheap, Just so as you know I have bid sniper set to more than 2 quid:laugh1:
  11. Is the term you are looking for ring porous as apposed to diffuse porous?
  12. That is indeed a bit of goat willow, whatever you do, don't leave it stood on the ground or it will sprout roots, even if you have stripped the bark off
  13. You would have helped yourself with some information. First thing I would want to know is as basic as, what type of wood is it?
  14. Well lets look at this, 198 views from whom? you say professional arbs but in truth we have no clue how those stats are made up. Then we have to look at the knowledge base. Assuming they are tree surgeons, what would your average tree surgeon know about the effects of peeling small diameter timber. Most just chuck it at the chipper and are glad to see the back of it. I will hazard a guess that since the cambial area is rich in sugars your phenomenon could be something to do with the oxidation of sugars
  15. I just had a look for you, there is one for domestic appliances and one for a vet
  16. I can see a use for the fridge magnets but not in tree work, I have one the gas fitter left stuck to the boiler, and one from appliances direct on the side of the fridge.
  17. Recording the cops with a cell phone is routine and what was the option, pick up the child and flee while looking down the barrel of the gun of the cop that just shot her bloke?
  18. No but life insurance in case you die rather than dye
  19. In a place where it seems the simple act of reaching for your ID can get you shot, it pays to stay calm.
  20. 4 inches diameter at the root end 7ft tall and a bit of a dead crown . Slice through with a saw pick it up in one hand drag or carry to the truck ( had no chipper ) and chuck it in . 6 , maybe 7 minutes tops from start to finish . You think £130 for that is reasonable then ? ( bearing in mind he did not want it done in the first place ). Easy tiger, I was thinking along the same lines till you offered more info. You aren't the first to have a relative "had over". How did you go on at the bank and what's the news on the possie. I'm up for it
  21. How did you get on cleaning the spilled oil, the scrotes and ambulance chasers of slip and trip litigation LTD can be a nightmare. Still its not like they can read a road sign and find out where it was, no wait,,,,,,,,,,,
  22. And your LOLER inspector isn't going to like it:laugh1:
  23. I would call that a pull rather than a fray. The jacket strands are a bit messed up but by and large aren't damaged. That can be sorted with a bit of time and effort with a dubbing needle.

You got that right, there is definitely something wrong when you can try and convict on social media before any investigation has even been started
  25. Speak to Justin at Kingwell holdings
