  1. Owned by a big name but made by someone with a short name like lu or lee
  2. You don't need doors when it wont even tip, talk about a half ass job
  3. It would need to be simultaneous though, talk about bad luck:laugh1:
  4. The one I knew had an engine driven bilge pump that was allegedly capable of keeping it afloat unless it had a big hole in it
  5. Its only best practice if its pruning spikes and round the back of the tree
  6. That's assuming it is a pukka contract. In this case its quite possibly some old tripe the bloke has made up and called a contract
  7. You think that's bad, these days "wagon wheels" aren't big enough for a Mini:laugh1:
  8. Cant add anything to that other than to say, "what he said"
  9. To the first part, that is not a surprise, to the second part, you are slipping
  10. Ha ha, so roast or drown in a polluted ditch
  11. Have you ever been in one, they need to be in water because the exhaust manifolds glow red and one of the payloads was petrol:laugh1:
  12. There have been 2 that "did a U boat", one in Liverpool and one on the Thames, your find might be next:laugh1:
  13. Please tell me it isn't this one
  14. While I don't disagree, the scheme is an auditable quality system and is about more than what the gang is doing that morning
  15. Am I the only one that's noticed you didn't mention what certification you hold? It makes a difference to what you can charge. As others have said competent climber with tickets a saw and PPE ought to be 100/day as a minimum for a standard day. Anything less isn't worth doing, by the time you have bought or replaced kit, LOLER inspections, tax and insurance you would be financially better off stacking shelves. What kind of contract have you signed? Subbies are free agents, they come and go as the work dictates. The tax man has rules about sub contract work. An employer cant call you a subbie if you are full time for them ad infinitum. They have to employ you on the books with sick pay holiday pay PPE provided and such like that may be "inconvenient" to them.
  16. That's great news, how is the beach volleyball going?
  17. Yes to the first part but if you are hiring a contract climber then that's what he is. If you can pick up by observation that's fine but if you want to accredit it as a training session it needs to be set up as such.
  18. I put R/C solenoid operation on a tracked chipper, simple enough job, valve and R/C system cost under 500 quid but that was several years ago now.
  19. I think its a separate app to arbtalk and its a "paid for" but even the most basic knowledge can often help sell a job (or not) or bring your talent to the attention of those who pay wages. It looks good when you can reach out your phone and show a pic and likely implications, especially when you can suck through your teeth and start the sentence, "well I am glad its not in my garden..........":laugh1:
  20. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meripilus_giganteus Or look it up in the fungi guide on here, or even on your phone
  21. The TV media are reduced to interviewing competitors grannies :laugh1: The redeeming parts are shooting and beach volleyball
  22. Its a pair of pants, the support is belt, braces or both.
  23. But only on a technicality, you aren't allowed to be in the lifting event while also the miss world candidate:laugh1:
  24. Google APF show, go there, try the kit on
  25. The simple fact that they outnumber us by a significant measure means it logically follows that they will have many more "adventurous" people available to be youtube stars. :laugh1:
