  1. Arb show and APF are 2 different events and the arb show is annual
  2. Most electronics are vulnerable to voltage spikes, ask if it can be damaged by ark welding.
  3. They aren't illegal as such but thy become part of the vehicle so they need to conform to construction and use so keep it tidy.
  4. Welcome to the forum, have you thought of advertising here to get your message over? People that use the forum like people that support it. Something stuck to metal in the machine is a dead give away and anything transmitting a signal can be detected even if you have hidden it. Something that can be hidden (small) and transmits its location when it receives a prompt would be good
  5. That rust is hardly worth the name, put an edge on it and use it and that bit of surface rust will be gone in no time
  6. The easy way is to find a crane you like and check the data sheet, most manufacturers have them on line
  7. More the better isn't always the case. Too much flow or pressure is a bad thing. Pressure gives strength and flow gives speed. Too much of either or both will cause problems
  8. Need a bigger hole, get a bigger brace
  9. But surely, that simply describes all politicians
  10. Well if you look on the second row tools on the page I linked to, low and behold a brace with a 3 jaw chuck
  11. WOT???? Its just a rub with a bit of sandpaper or wire wool, how much material do you think wire wool is going to take off?......................... Microns at best unless you dedicate the rest of your life to the job
  12. Its a drill bit, as in Brace and bit and you didn't look too hard Auger Drill Bits and Hand Drill Braces - Old Tools
  13. Anything abrasive, sand paper, wire wool etc. If you are lazy, find someone with a media blast cabinet
  14. The "grain" is what the router program was told to leave there
  15. CNC router
  16. Have a good look at the rad, the symptoms match knackered cooling vanes, rad works but only until you put it under some work
  17. You say "Arb" but chainsaws are used in many places, think forestry for saws and potential accidents in remote places. I think you have to have seen a strobe from the air to realise just how effective they are day or night. One of the main problems for an air ambulance is locating the casualty and a strobe is "the" tool for that job. Members of the public frequently wave to low flying helicopters and their needs and intentions need clarification which eats into rescue time. A strobe, even in daylight says "over here boys" They weigh as good as nothing and certainly less than a stretcher. If your work takes you into remote areas (forestry) its a worthwhile tool, perhaps not for Mrs Miggins garden though.
  18. Valid points Have you considered, You are of course quite correct vis the transport of spinal (or suspected) injuries, but transporting an "unstable" casualty often does much more harm than good. Its hard bordering impossible to monitor a casualty on the move with a dedicated carer (which your under manned team wont have) and if you are route picking as well as carrying you have a decent chance of becoming a casualty yourself which brings us full circle to the "do no harm". Clearly its hard to sit "doing nothing" when the fight or flight thing is adrenalizing your thought process. In that situation an option to consider would be to send the carrier to meet the assistance and facilitate their prompt arrival, that's casualty management 101 Personally I wouldn't recommend pyrotechnics or smoke, they are a one shot deal and could be potential hazard The passive alternatives are as or more effective. A good old fashioned whistle costs pennies and can be attached to clothes or a helmet strap to keep it in reach. A strobe beacon is an option that will still be effective even if the casualty passes out, particularly effective for lone workers.
  19. Not going but that's cheap, it would cost more to go to the APF show
  20. I asked him that a while back, he didn't have an answer then and he wont have now,,,,will he? go on jackamo answer the man:laugh1:
  21. Will it make a difference if they aren't from the land of the angles? What about Scotland, Wales or NI, what if they are female? You do know Splints are so old school, but since you are ok with the hardware why not skip on to drugs or better yet, will you need help scrubbing for your next bypass surgery?
  22. Do you actually have anything remotely intelligent to contribute or is taking the piss really all you have:thumbdown:
  23. Sorry about that, the phrase was covered earlier in the thread, its the over riding principal of medical ethics and the first thing a med student learns after he has scoped out the location of the nearest bar:laugh1:
  24. What this highlights is that in order to avoid problems, you have to be clear and accurate in your description of the item and particularly clear in your T and C's Ebay isn't a bad place but there are bad people out there
