  1. Morning All, I am new to the Forum and I'm looking for some feedback from within the industry. I supply GPS tracking solutions Telematics Pro - GPS Tracking | On-board Cameras | Data Management | Driver Training primarily to commercial fleets (cars, vans & HGV's). We have however been receiving interest from the Arb industry due to the high volume of asset thefts of chippers, trailers, stump grinders etc. One of the challenges we have come across is that traditional trackers need to be wired into a power source, and as such the wires make them easy to find and the thieves remove them very quickly. We have a new battery powered solution, that is magnetised and can be stuck to any metallic panel on the asset, which means it can be well hidden away and there's not giveaway wires. They are £149.99 to purchase and there's a £9 monthly service fee which covers the sim and access to a web portal to view the trackers on a map in real time. The service can be suspended and reactivated any time and there's no minimum contract. I would like to understand if there is genuine interest in this product, before I go ahead an buy more stock. We are working with Arb insurers and have a unit placed on a chipper as a working example. What's your thoughts please? Would this be something you would consider for your assets?
  2. Hello Folks, we have been thinking of getting one of the road going forestry trailers to be able to pull it behind a hilux to bring it to the site and use it on site to extract to the roadside. What do people think? Good idea, bad idea? Downfalls? Lots of the sites here have bad access. We don't really have the capital to buy tractor as well and then even if we did we will still need trailer to get it to site so thats why we're thinking of going down this route. The hilux is 2494cc, year 2004, the trailer we've been looking at is fast tow breaked trailer from RIKO, which can come with flat bed or bolsters and has hydraulics to move the bed back and forward on the chassy to adjust the weight. They come at £14200 ex VAT - we'd get 40% of that covered by FFIS. Any experience sharing will be most appreciated! Mostly worried about overtaxing the hilux and wrecking it!
  3. Hi, Another piece of equipment that I'm looking for would be a trailer, I know everyone seems to go for the Ifor Williams. I'm looking for a cages/Mesh sides, ramp not essential but would be preferable. Slighly bigger than the bog standard square shape, any suggestions, I'm activel looking on eBay and gumtree, just if anyone new any second hand trailer co.s, or bargains that they got elsewhere. Thanks Andrew
