  1. I was a bit shocked recently by the cost of having a rad overhauled. Nearer 400 than a hundred but you may have better contacts apart from that give it a go. Money in the pot is always useful for little niggles etc
  2. Don't forget the address on your mobile site!
  3. Bout 40-75/day depending on what your doing/how good you are
  4. I did think 5 police cars was excessive for a ten minute clear up though!
  5. If it's that dangerous the police will close the road. This then gives a sterile environment in which you can safely work without traffic issues.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong but .8 x .9 x 1.9 = 1.368m2? I do Like the wheeled idea though if you're kiln drying
  7. Only when I'm working up there unfortunately :-( And yep there can't be a lot of money left with what's been spent recently.
  8. This is also true and if they do say no ask them what you need to do for them to say yes!
  9. The one by the college? I was assuming it was your land rover? Road becomes a path or has bollards or something similar from Memory
  10. I dunno hodge they did some streetlight clearance along that path by you a couple of years ago!
  11. I'm quite happy to chip for others, I charge in an hourly rate and I won't be putting nasty stuff through my chipper unless the rate pays for new blades!
  12. I can get one Friday if no one gets there sooner, how much was the replacement, mine needs some tlc again.....
  13. How much is the used hb20 going for in comparison to a new one?
  14. I apologise in advance if I'm wrong but I haven't seen anything from the forestry commission about this, might just be the skeptic in me, have you got a link to the forestry commission website that will link to this? R
  15. Doesn't look pretty, hope all involved ok, metal can be replaced
  16. I'd be paying him the full £75/day but then again I wouldn't have had him back after the first two days. R
  17. Good to hear, keep us informed of the progress. I didn't think they'd ever trust you with sharp knives ;-) R
  18. You were either working for network rail or their principal Contractor. I'd have been submitting a variation to contract form before continuing if I thought the cost would have been an issue to works. Or in real life I'd have probably have clipped a superfluous rope to something so it looked right......
  19. It just depends what the client specifies. Most rail clients will want irata, a lot of construction companies would be More than happy with tree tickets if justified in risk assessment.....
  20. Rocker cover gasket or where bolt that secures it would be my guess
  21. No you're not going to get that with a regular 5 day week guaranteed work. You will however get it for last minute work when peoples regular staff can't do it or aren't available or you're miles from home. The fact that someone offering 200/shift cannot get staff reflects the current supply and demand
  22. 180-250 depending on travel and if they're any good
  23. Seems like the cheapest option so far. May well be in touch early next week!
  24. Have you done any of the work yet? If not I'd pop a new price in as the timber was going to be your wage. If you have it's more complicated.....
