  1. As loler inspectors we are human, for the record a missing wire inwouldnt have passed it. Ropes are not as clear cut. I may pass a rope someone else would fail, and vice versa. On the loler assessment they have been careful to avoid grey areas. Same as corrosion on an mot it's up to the individual to make a decision, and one that if required they could defend on court
  2. Depends if it was genuine or not..... But I'd expect the team to crack on and do the best they could to finish the job. Swings and roundabouts
  3. premium no accident = £500 50 percent discount for no claims =£250 Premium accident = £600 Still got 50 percent discount for no claims = £300
  4. I would argue that MBS is minimum breaking strength ie the limit up to which the product is guaranteed and will fail quite a bit above that. Tensile strength is the absolute maximum value of strength at which the material will fail. 10:1 ratio for fabric, 5:1 for metalwork although there are some exceptions such as certain slings
  5. I wouldn't have said there is a relationship? Do you mean between MBS and swl?
  6. Yer a bit far but if were stuck tomorrow I'll be in touch, thanks. And that's what I'd do normally woody I'm subbing for someone though so trying to do the work and sort logistics but hey ho
  7. Any body know of a tip site for clean chip in Penkridge, nr Sfafford if anyone knows of one today and tomorrow
  8. Graham fawcett plant is the man for Jensen parts I believe
  9. Technically you haven't done what you've applied for so you can't, but realistically I can't see anybody being to worried. As already stated you have a time limit to carry out the original works
  10. I managed to get orange plant to get me them in the end although they got them Off rayco...... 6 quid each
  11. Hi there doing a job in this area starting Tuesday after a chip and log site, got one but he says it's a bit full so if I can avoid it that's better Many thanks R
  12. Whereabouts in Cumbria are you? Will have some wood ulverston/grange way next week
  13. Allow yourself 500/wk and that will easily cover it
  14. There is often a shortage of trees for training/assessment, particularly wind blown. Good offer Johnny!
  15. There's probably more to it than meets the eye unfortunately. You may have got caught in the middle or he may be getting revenge for something years ago now he's moving..... Who knows!
  16. I'd have spoken to Gary myself beforehand, but...... I'd send a reply to the solicitor stating the facts, then see what his next move/motive is R
  17. You will get customers. I'd stay away from climbing if you're proving the van and chipper means you get to control what goes through it etc. A lot of lads working for firms will give you work as they have the skills but not the equipement, but tends to be weekend only
  18. 470/500/550 Nice to see everyone very similar on price for a change!
  19. Depends how bigger pedestrian grinder you can get in, and how strong you are. If you've never used one before it will take a lot longer than you realise! Plus teeth aren't always the best on hire machines. I think I'd put two days on it with a basic pedestrian grinder. If you could get a HB20 or similar a lot less time. Without seeing the job, access, ground conditions etc etc I would guess £500ish
  20. I've bolted boxes to the top of them in the past. Would definitely be an individual taste/use thing
  21. Customer hasn't taken it on themselves to apply weed and feed have they?
  22. You'd need to do c+e to tow a chipper behind it if you went bigger that 7.5t wouldn't you?
  23. 7.5T you can still get people who have this licence, any bigger and it's HGV which will limit your drivers. Not a problem if you're the only driver, just food for thought
  24. We seem to have that attitude in the UK. If someone is doing well we become jealous, in the States (form what I've seen) they are the first to praise them. Only one person is in control of our destiny!
