  1. could be, but the 360TES is based on the 355T the us 360T is an up-dated older design (i think) and a cheaper less powerful saw than the 355. Echo numbering is quite straightforward and the sheer number of models on offer is not confusing at all:001_tongue:
  2. the ES is important tho as the 360T and 360TES are different animals... top handle echo's currently available in the US are; 271T, 303T, 330T, 355T and 360T...
  3. saws like running hard from the off, just avoid revving the nuts off it with no load (same as anything really). for milling you should certainly be loading the engine, and a new saw should cool better than a well used one. just blip the throttle a bit and let it idle some to cool after long cuts. check plug colour, tune with a tach and crack on.
  4. fair play, your homework trumps mine. that makes about 8 top handle models currently available from echo
  5. not so much. 360t is different to the 355t.both currently available in the US, where the rrp of the 360 is about $150less than the 355.
  6. the 355t is the newer 'good' top handle from echo. some very promising reviews from the US. thanks to shindaiwa influenced cylinder design.
  7. if it was new then they moved it round the showroom a lot!
  8. discount for un-split rounds loaded straight from the tree only. if it looks like firewood its full price
  9. so, anyone with an rough idea of what a single cab japanese pickup bed/buck/rear body weighs? namely a 10yr old+ isuzu contemplating bodging together a dropside body with toolbox, but want to maintain payload, and would rather have an idea of what leeway i have before getting the grinder and hammer out. cheers
  10. twin stemmed Macrocarpa about 70foot, lightening strike on friday leaving splinters up to six foot long over a 100foot radius, one unlucky pigeon perched in the wrong place.
  11. the petzl helmets are all min 53cm head circumference... the small/medium black diamond half dome that steve linked to fits 48-57cm, but all other black diamond helmets are min 53cm and i dont think you can fits ear defenders/visor to any of them
  12. not to say i would use an open container of 2 stroke of unknown history...
  13. made by rock oil? used it for years if so... was my local husky dealers oil of choice
  14. could be the start of your new incentive scheme... insertion of ironwork into chipper earns equal insertion of ironwork into operator.
  15. need some big dawgs or a better exhaust angle for the rebuild then eddy..
  16. i dont really like top-handle saws, they are awkward to use, hard on the wrists and you dont get the leverage of a proper saw. they are however, balanced in such a way as to make them excellent for use in one hand... (i suspect they may even have been designed for just this, mad conspiracy theory i know). if im using a top handle saw it is aloft, and 75% of the time in only my right hand... but then, im a terrible person
  17. £289 is a good chunk of change towards something decent with a 'real' manufacturer that will last a damn sight longer than a season
  18. much cheaper and almost as handy would be a kinda a-frame type boom thing with a hydraulic winch so you could winch big stuff and bundles and drop them right in the feed tray , mounted on a sub frame with blade/ground anchor. could make a decent sized tracked chipper into an easily fed, assisted felling and extraction machine... maybe
  19. hmm, two replies that give you the only two uk suppliers who sell armor prus and make e2e's... but they are alfwitz? making you a whole wit? or just a whole...
  20. get ed to try one of his husky 576 bars to see if it mates up... :-p
  21. um.. is it not D009 mount? ie common as muck
  22. they were made by wetterlings forge, who are still making the same axes without the H stamp as far as i know
  23. just be sure to keep an eye on the finish of the thimbles, they can come with sharp edges and burrs that i wouldnt want anywhere near my hitch cord. but im sure youre on top of that, just a tip for any budding tether makers
  24. its a much tighter fit than with jameson poles, but works. i keep it on a dedicated pole to save wearing the coupling. (this is with fred marvin poles, which i'm 98% sure are who make stein poles).
  25. why Cupressus of course..
