  1. dont think there are any 12mm+ wire cores available in the u.k other than the 14mm komet miller reglex machoire (komet-miller-reglex-machoire-wire-core-flip-line) which is not my cup of tea... yale certainly used to make a 16mm dia wire core, but i cant find any suppliers. honey brothers will make you a 5m long 12mm wire core tho. and as they splice em up themselves, they might be persuaded to make you a bigger dia one... or treestuff if c.e marks dont worry you...
  2. a lone jem, hidden half way up a steep valley in north cornwall. a touch of honey fungus and the wind earlier in the year was sadly too much for it.

    Saws

fyi - the 2101 did have inertia brake as standard (called swed-o-matic chain brake) as did most later metal brake handle huskys. it was`an optional extra for the 2100 and 285, possibly introduced with the 181...
  4. i think your listing has expired mate... my fine example of a 288xp with 28"bar is on there needing a good home tho :-)
  5. dont know about that, sounds like a poor excuse your mrs gave for wizzing on your weetabix.. there is a norse druid tradition of drinking the pee of reindeer that have eaten fly agaric mushrooms, to get the psycadelic effects without the organ failure...
  6. washing out wounds if no other sterile liquid is available... yet to be that desperate myself, but could save a life one day. now, off out to write my name on conifer hedges...
  7. sweet, more pics once you start pulling some sticks please. what is the rear lift and hydraulic flow on the 835?
  8. hope you put him back.. looked structurally integral to the shed!

    2100cd

the 2100 certainly did have the additional thumb oiler. 285cd and 298xp did not. also 2101xp came standard with chainbrake, whereas it was optional on the 2100cd. i do agree they were very nice saws

    2100cd

i believe the coil is nla... i think it shares one with the 285cd, 298xp, 2101xp, and probably the 1100cd. i vaguely recall it shares a coil with the stihl 056magnum (probably av and super models as well). coil failure and lack of availability was the death knell for many of these old greats.
  11. unfortunately the 056 chassis and top end are unique to the 056, there is no crossover. keep an eye on US and german ebay for used or old stock or clean up your cylinder and fit a cheapo piston. or i could sell you a very nice 88cc husky:wink:
  12. it looks like a vagrant has fly-tipped a load of crap in your garden. pull the pile apart, separate the rubbish and present a neat-ish pile of clean timber and brash, take another picture and you may get a taker. cheapest and easiest option is a little incinerator bin, and a box of matches
  13. because they were never 'that' popular, and production stopped about 25 years ago, whereas other saw's of that era 038,076 etc continued production (and were updated) for other markets
  14. none of the good aftermarket companies make 056 top ends. i dont think anyone makes cylinders for them, but there are no-name chinese pistons available. stihl possibly still supply oem top ends, but a lot of 056 parts are nla
  15. please share the ins and outs of agt ownership on this thread. there is not much info about them, but they look like a lot of machine for the money (compared to the italian offerings). pics would be good:001_smile:
  16. you could ask an efco dealer... but failing that, im pretty sure it is a re-badged komatsu zenoah saw, that is also rebadged and is/was sold by husqvarna, stiga, ama, lawnflite, oleo mac, and a glut of no-name chinese makers. basically all 25cc top handles other than stihl and echo are that saw or a subtle re jigging of its basic design.
  17. dress it in silk and it could go on to have a long running forum thread and a successful free-lance career in arb...
  18. you have a special skill, bringing out the bitchy moaning side of people... i wouldn't add it to your cv though
  19. ive seen small diameter beech deadwood giving off a blueish white glow from the broken ends. on the forest floor (in early spring i believe).
  20. thanks mike, anyone else with any input?
  21. yes, according to much better informed folk than i. im slightly baffled by it all, but im baffled by an awful lot:blushing:
  22. could be, but the 360TES is based on the 355T the us 360T is an up-dated older design (i think) and a cheaper less powerful saw than the 355. Echo numbering is quite straightforward and the sheer number of models on offer is not confusing at all:001_tongue:
  23. the ES is important tho as the 360T and 360TES are different animals... top handle echo's currently available in the US are; 271T, 303T, 330T, 355T and 360T...
