  1. Has anyone read it, any opinions.
  2. Made a few of these for a client, they have to be lined and painted then filled with soil and plants. 2013-12-07 12.25.20.jpg 2013-12-07 12.25.34.jpg 2013-12-07 12.25.46.jpg 2013-12-07 12.26.05.jpg
  3. So did you buy one or did they replace it?
  4. Everyone has a mobile phone and because ours is quite a demanding and physical job its not always practical to keep your phone in your pocket. If you leave it in the truck you can't hear it ring and obviously you need to answer it because it might be for you!. I find the best place is a breast pocket as its out of the way when carrying logs or brash and its the nearest your going to get to your ear. I have a couple of fleeces with them but cannot find anymore. I dont like pouches that go on your belt as I find these also get in the way. So does anyone know who does fleeces (but not jacket) with a breast pocket. I need about 15/20.
  5. We have a double cab auto, its a bit thirsty.
  6. No its not, but this is a unique and special day, I think they were dressed appropriately and for all the right reasons.
  7. I believe the headteacher is wrong, 11/11 is a very distinctive and emotional day and to send the kids home for showing their support is disrespectfull in my opinion. They appeared to be dressed smartly and I also believe it should have been encouraged. He could have had the foresight to capitalise on the situation and use them lead the minute silence in some way.
  8. We have been in this situation also, if you can get it on a memory stick or card you may be able to take it to Prontaprint or similar, we have had them printed for around £5, per sheet A1.
  9. I have no interest in how much they charge that is down to them, we are going to site tomorrow in Brum to price a job with approx 100 trees, some are to be felled and some need remedial work and some need nothing, none of the trees have been tagged and the report was done by a company in Southampton. I called and spoke with them today as some of the trees are not even numbered on the drawing supplied, the guy who did the report is on holiday, our client is chasing the quote. This is the third time this year we have been in a similar situation, how do they get away with it.
  10. Why cant they or dont they put bloody tags on trees when undertaking surveys. If there are only a few then fair enough but when you get 30/40/50 or more trees in a small or confined area how are we supposed to know which one is which when the drip line is overlaid on the plan and the species are same. I find it happens a lot and it is frustrating so why?.
  11. Its fair to say its been quite wet this week, anybody want to buy a nearly new Forst photo.jpg
  12. I am pretty sure I have a spare remote you can have FOC, pm me your address. Warn 8274 is probably the best winch you can buy for all round everyday work. We overvolt ours for competition work and run 24v through them. We have two alternators which is easy to do with any Land Rover.
  13. We have a couple of jobs in Hull next week 21st - 25th and need a chip and timber tip site. There are approx 2/3 transit loads wood chip and 4/5 loads of Sycamore and Horse Chestnut. Bob 01902 892652
  14. I have one of each Johnny and ours are not plated for 3.5 tonne ? and to be honest I would never tow more than a 6" chipper behind either, much to unstable.
  15. Amusing. I have just read eveything before this post and cannot read anymore, you are a very dangerous and unjust person to work for in my opinion. I have been doing this job before chippers were used so I have seen the transition from brashing down on the back of the truck, burning on site all the way through to the chippers we now have. You are saying more than once within your post's that you expect your brash dragger to keep the site clear and chip the brash yet you make no mention that he should have his chipper ticket, CSCS, First Aid, Groundsman training, site induction, risk assessment, method statement, etc, etc, the list is almost endless of the HSE issues you are involved with. It seems you expect the best but you appear to be the worst boss I have ever come across. I did see in a previous post you told some one to get a life...ditto. Good luck in your quest, I fear your search will be a long one.
  16. We have a ranger and an Isuzu which are fine for general day to day work but if you need to tow anything or actually go off road then it has to be a LR everytime.
  17. I have around 20 tonnes of cordwood available in Redditch, could deliver locally but prefer collect. Mostly hardwood. Bob 01902 892652
  18. We get parts for our quadchip next day providing they catch the courier in time, sometimes it's not the dealer its the company delivering the parts.
  19. We have a new tracked Forst, its a pleasure to use, the lads realy like it.
  20. For more info please call Bob 01902 892652
  21. We will have approx 3 transit loads of Conifer and one load of Sycamore Thurs/Fri this week.
  22. But I was on my own land which had been gated until the fire brigade cut the lock. The link does say you have to be on a public highway or public open space and the article was written by a specialist solicitor
  23. Whilst you can be breathalised anywhere I think they must be able to proove you have comitted an offence which I had not.
