  1. 10" is about it's limit but really what fits in the jaws it will cut
  2. Just bought a tree shear from Exac-one, wasnt sure what to expect but it's working well, in this instance it's a lot quicker than using a chainsaw. 2014-02-24 07.08.39.jpg 2014-02-24 07.09.12.jpg 2014-02-24 07.09.28.jpg 2014-02-26 11.35.22.jpg 2014-02-26 11.35.33.jpg 2014-02-26 11.36.09.jpg 2014-02-26 11.36.16.jpg 2014-02-26 11.36.30.jpg 2014-02-26 11.36.46.jpg 2014-02-26 11.36.49.jpg

    Forst

You cannot fault their commitment to this product. I have yet to buy a chipper or any other machine for that matter which does not have problems at some point and back up is the key. Some companies sort it straight away and other drag their feet, the Forst lads are certainly on the case.
  7. Mike They need to be like this, these were actually for some commemorative trees we planted, the ones he normally does are house names but much the same thing really. He like Birch because of the bark. He has various sizes for obvious reasons 2.jpg 3.jpg
  8. I have a client who supplies house names for gardens centres etc to sell, he is looking for some blanks, they really need to be Silver Birch and he normally has around 50 at a time. One side needs to be smooth for him to write the house name on so will either need to be planed or sanded. Would anyone here be interested in supplying some. Bob 01902 892652
  9. We have one and a half transit load or one 7.5 tonner load of Crack Willow available in Cov tomorrow if anyone is interested. Bob 01902 892652
  10. The lorry carries a fair bit more than our old one, the large chunk is 4.5 tonne. The one on the JCB bucket is just over 3 tonnes, the JCB was not to keen on that bit. 2014-02-18 14.01.51.jpg 2014-02-18 14.02.04.jpg 2014-02-18 14.02.34.jpg 2014-02-18 14.40.34.jpg
  11. The Vermeer has an extra 10hp so yes it does out grind the Rayco. I have had the Rayco from new and it has been a very good and reliable grinder, TBH I hadn't thought of selling it.
  12. you can a fair of kit on the new lorry 2014-02-18 07.36.31.jpg 2014-02-18 07.36.48.jpg DSCF0407.jpg DSCF0408.jpg
  13. Home Forestry Nathan, if he doesn't have it he will get it.
  14. I have just had a call from a resident of Moorland, Somerset, their village is cut off and need to reinforce flood defences with sand bags, they are looking for some one to deliver the sand/gravel/bags to the village, throuble is you need to drive through 6 feet of water, its a bit to far for me to take the Unimog, is there anyone down that way that has a vehicle suitable to help them. If so please call me 01902 892652 and I will pass your details on, if you know me then call my mobile.
  15. All sorted now, thankyou for your interest.
  16. Hey Pete I was hoping some one would ask that, can we bag it as well:001_tt2:
  17. We will soon be taking down a mature Horse Chestnut in Hull, if anyone is interested in the timber please let me know, Bob, either PM or call 01902 892652. its FOC.
  18. I hope your wife recovers quickly and wish you both well.
  19. This appears to through a little more light on the subject, it is taken from the forestry.gov.uk web site. Before letting us know about the tree felling, you should note that some tree felling does not require a felling licence from the Forestry Commission. For example: •Felling trees in gardens, churchyards or a public open space where the public have a legal right of access for recreation
  20. I believe a public open space is still covered by felling license requirements, it's common land that is exempt
  21. I think what you are referring to is Article 106. The land is due for development and approx 600 house's are to be built on what was former heavy industrial land and was planted up around 20 years ago. However, planning permission has not been granted yet so there is no permitted development rights at this moment.
  22. If this is to be the case then I would suggest most local authorities are working withing a felling licence on a daily basis. One days work alone could put you over the criterea?. Local authorities are not exempt simply because they are local authorities and many trees are taken down that do not fall within the exemption:confused1:. Felling licences exemptions (England)
  23. Just to clarify a little more, its urban forestry not rural. They are individual plantings owned by the local authority but within the same town.
  24. We had the same problem with Horse Chestnut, tried all sorts but in the end had to wait for nature to do its thing. The stain has dulled now but never went 100%. I like the screen around your work site, did you erect that.
  25. They are seperated by distance and owned by the same person. I guess it would be the same question if you owned a wood in Wolverhampton and one in Shrewsbury, another in Oswestery and another in Manchester (I know there are no woods in Manchester its just an example).
