  1. Sometimes I wonder if the reams of paperwork I produce each day is there to help or simply trap me if things go wrong. I guess at least it shows we have thought about the situation. A gang of lads (nothing to do with me) working in the Black Country was felling some Lombardy Pops in a resricted area using a MEWP. The guy in the bucket trashed the MEWP. He took the top out but roped it at approx one third above ground level:scared1:. So using the right tool but not the right technique.
  2. I spoke to the guy last week because we have been thinking about buying one and he implied that it was him that did the work. But whatever. Is it the bed that goes rotten, the sides are aluminium?.
  3. We have one of these on hire at the moment, it was delivered to site today. I will let you know how we get on. It is from Orange by the way, Cannock depot.
  4. Theres a guy in Durham who converts Land Rovers, they go for between 9k - 11k but they are proper job.
  5. John

My name is Bob Smith from Wolverhampton Tree Service. Peter Bagguley from Greenmech popped in to see me the other day and said you might be getting rid of a shredder?. If you are and if you still have it could you give me a call 01902 892652.

    Cheers - Bob

  6. GPS Car Tracker Jammer... Not sure if the link will work but its to a tracker jammer, they are around £90 and simply plug into the cigartette lighter and block out the tracker signal. Anyone know if they work successfully.
  7. We have not noticed any difference as yet but it will catch up eventually and I would a fool to think otherwise. I employ 12 lads full time so we get through a fair bit of work. Our diary is full of enquiries every day but we have been round a long time so I guess that helps. I have had lots of one man bands and smaller teams asking for work. We do a lot of winter site clearance for developers in preparation for the following year. Most have not turned a blade of grass on last years sites yet so we will short of that work this time which is where we get our bigger winter jobs. I am hoping to get through to the spring and that things will have stabilised by then.
  8. Took the wheels of one lads car and left it on four house bricks. He just laughed when he saw it.
  9. Nails, hammer, jumper, tree stump, ya get the drift.
  10. Keep a felt tip pen in the truck for when they nod off on the way home.
  11. Just stick your finger in the vans exhaust (not while its running) and rub the soot into the front of the headband on the helmet.
  12. If your mate smokes roll ups, lick the next paper while he's not looking. Works best in the pub after a few pints.
  13. Can they do that then, is it allowed. Strange how mobile phones work all day every day except monday mornings:confused1:
  14. Its not a grey area in the Black Country, you need one and you are guilty when stopped by VOSA unless you carry evidence with you to prove otherwise.
  15. Looks like they might their own customer.
  16. The local authorities up and down the country already do it to their own trees but you try and convince a potential customer different.
  17. perhaps they keep Giraffes:confused1:
