  1. We move it around on the Unimog. Hanixontrailer.jpg (57.4 KB) Hanixontrailer2.jpg (64.3 KB
  2. We have aquired a new splitter which fits onto any 360 over 2.5 tonnes up tom 7.5 tonnes. It will easily convert large timber or roots into smaller sections for proccesing. It has a built in auto gearbox so as the timber gets bigger or harder it changes gear to suit. Easy to use and quick. 3. Most of you will know this but its worth a mention. VOSA can pull you over without a copper present. In the olds days they had to have one with them. Apparantly, if they do pull you over (without a copper present) and your not sure about their validity they will have a contact number of the local nick who you can call to check them out. 15-12-03 Power to Stop - improving VOSA's effectiveness
  4. A team working in a back garden in Tividale which is between Dudley and Sandwell today had the tool box on the truck broken into. Cheeky b@sturds. Luckily the lads had taken all the tools into the back garden so they got FA.
  5. We had one taken off the back of the truck a few years ago in Anchor Rd, Coseley at 9am, the lads had only left the truck to check out the job they were doing that day. It was chained to the truck, they pulled up alongside, cropped the chain/lock with bolt cutters and simply hitched it to their car and drove off. A lady on her way to work saw what happened but only got part the reg no. Fortunately I know a guy who knows the gypo's and it cost me £500 to get it back which was better than paying £9,000 at the time for a new one. It is their full time occupation, they will watch the lads go out from the yard in a morning and follow them around the black country just waiting for a chance to take whatever is available. A lad who used to work for me then set up on his own had his nicked while he was using it!. He had left the keys in the ignition and they took off with his truck and chipper while a branch was being fed into the hopper.
  6. Has there been anything in the news, any idea what the local paper is.
  7. A Land Rover was nicked from the village along with a trailer with a large mower on it. Police chase Land Rover towing trailer - easy to catch yes - Land Rover stops on narrow bridge, back door opens and one of the thieves unhitches trailer and drives off - by the time the police had stopped and pushed the trailer out the way they were gone. Who would think of that.
  8. I know how you feel, I have approx 35 crime ref no's. I am in Wolverhampton and have a spare set of climbing kit you can borrow if you are stuck at all.
  9. My mrs
  10. I have had a WCL for many years and like others who have posted I wondered if I really needed one so on my first renewal I asked if they could tell me how many prosecutions there had been to date - no reply! I have also been told anything that comes off a building/development site is waste, no matter where its going, virgin or not.
  11. Hard to believe its possible. Well done.
  12. I have around 100/150 tonne at the moment, 8 miles outside Bridgnorth towards Wolverhampton. Can you collect or do you want it delivered. Where abouts are you.
  13. I always found that the lights on the trucks and generator had the opposite effect because they are on the ground shining up straight into your eyes. You need the best head torch money can buy, even had em taped onto the saw's. LED's are ideal because they are so small and light weight.
  14. A job well done the lads said, they havn't got back yet, bloody gearbox blew up on the Land Rover

  15. We have a job in Dewsbury and need a helping hand, either a two or three man team with truck and chipper to assist a team of our lads. A climber would be good but not essential. The job should take approx 5 days and is ready to start. Bob - 01902 892652 or drop me a PM.
  16. I once planted a shelter belt of whips around a quarry. After two years the quarry called me to say there was a problem, the trees which had grown to approx 1.5m tall were now back down to the height of the tubes ?. During the winter it had snowed, with nothing else to eat the rabbits had walked on the snow and eaten the tops off the trees completely. Once the snow had gone there was no evidence except a local guy who had seen what happened. A bit O/T but while we are talking about Toyota's [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsPktNXrwrY]YouTube - Surf got stuck in farley quarry[/ame] It's my mates Land Cruiser thats stuck.
  17. I guess by your grammer you are not British. The AA do a lot to promote its contractors. I have been approved since 1990 and believe its fully worthwhile .
  18. They will always offer less than they are actually willing to pay. Something to bear in mind with tool and equipment insurance is most policy's will have an 'average' clause. If you make a claim and they appoint a loss adjuster he will be out to protect your insurer. Say you make a claim for a chipper @ £12,000. and on your proposal form you insured all your kit for say £30,000. When he comes along nice and friendly to make a list of what you own and it totals £40,000. you are 10k under insured and therefore they will not pay you the 12k for the replacement chipper, only the percentage of the total value you were insured for. Ask me how I know:cursing:
  19. Bostin job there mate.
  20. I priced this back in November, big awkward job. Whoever gets it will need some good competent climbers and some all terrain vehicles. Tractors and Land Rovers will not get to all parts of the site its so wet. It would be a crackin job in the spring/summer but it's never like that is it. Then there is the Camels, leopards, Merecats, Emu's and all the other animals.
  21. We are born equal. However, a minority loose their equal rights along the way buy taking things which are not theirs. I think the earlier post was correct, it is the sentance which is wrong. Just a pity he did not simply break his arms or legs:thumbup:.
  22. If anyone is interested we are taking down a large dead Elm hedge in Weymouth this week,14th - 17th Dec. Approx 4/5 transit loads. If you can collect the timber from site its yours. Either reply Here or drop me a PM.
  23. I am not saying you are wrong :001_tt2:but, you might not be right:thumbdown:. You need an exemption certificate which is issued by the Environment Agency. I will find mine and if anyone wants the details drop me a PM:thumbup:.
  24. White SWB transit van, reg BF02 OJX (possibly BFO2 OJK) side loading door with four lads and a girl, late teens early twenties, hoodies with scarfs. Driver appears to be ginger. We had a visit at 8.15pm 25th Nov. Didn't take that much, 4 strimmers, 1 Stihl pole saw, sat nav, bolt cutters and some bits and pieces. Its the damage they cause getting in. Pulled the security grill of with a chain around the back axle of the van which took a bit of doing. They were on site for 5 mins and in our unit for 1.5 mins. If you had looked at our yard prior to the break in you would not believe they would even attempt to try and get in. Its like Fort Knox. Lights, locks, shutters and alarms everywhere. All the lights came on, the alarm was going off and people were driving past and taking no notice (there is a gym on the estate). I guess they spot a van like theirs and simply get a a number plate made which they then use until the next job. Chances are they might still have this number on at the moment.
