  1. We have changed the plastic caps on ours several times. The rear springs are close to useless and Ford know this, IIRC they only guarantee them for 6 months or 20,000 miles.
  2. I have a Vermeer SC60 on tracks or a Rayco RG50 on wheels. If your job is Gloucester it's 1 hr from us.
  3. There should be another box on the RA which say's, will anyone act like a real idiot today and do some thing you will not expect them to and will the other lads on site stand back and watch them do it. If you have a claim, even if it is false it will still affect your insurance.
  4. That's ok if you are dealing with your local LA who probably know you, we work throughout the country and most will only do a check if you enquire in writing. Fortunately e mails sort this fairly quickly but I have just asked Birmingham City Council to do a TPO/CA check, I have supplied the full postal address, they have replied and asked for a site plan and it will take up to TEN days:cursing:.
  5. You must be a very fast writer, I do mine on line and it takes that amount of time to log on, you will need site location plan, photo's and then depending on the reasons for the work possibly a report. I agree they should send it to you but dont hold your breath, quite often they will send it to the client or even both.
  6. No, getting ready for the first one this year which is 26/27 March @ Bridgnorth, bring the mrs down for a dirty weekend, plenty mud.

  7. We now have potential Bat roost as part of our site specific risk assessment/job sheet. I have come across many roost's in 30 years, two have caught me by suprise, one in a very large and mature Beech and one in an over mature Ash and both were many years ago and before mobile phones etc. These days there much more awareness.
  8. I have a Timberwolf shredder, the first one we had did not have the blower and was promptly returned. Even with the blower they will still get blocked if you just throw the stuff in it, if you know a bit about the job you will not have a problem. They are quite easy to unblock and we would not be without ours, just dont expect a chipper.

I have a 53 reg for sale if your still looking, transit engine, low milage, regular service, tipper, tacho fitted, long MoT, one owner from new £1900 + VAT.
  10. First of all you do NOT need to fill in forms for CA's, check out the blue book, I think it's para 9. LA can ask, but they cannot make you use the form. You do have to use them for TPO's. Depending on who the client is, if it's a regular then no charge, if it's a one off then I make a charge and refund it off the price of the job. They do not accept thankyou's down the pub.
  11. What are you thinking of planking, the Oak or the bloke. Have you tested it to see if its hollow, I would guess the first 2 mtrs will be full of nails etc so you may as well start logging that bit.
  12. I saw one of these at the APF and was impressed by its simplicity but dissapointed by the end product.
  13. You have timed it just about right, the indoor 4x4 show is at the county showground Stafford which I think is 19/20 March so there will be plenty to choose from on your doorstep. However, David Bowyers Goldfish which is totally waterproof is the one I would recommend, they are tried and tested, and if you can afford it a goodwich dyneema rope. You will get cheaper but £ for £ they are best value for money, in my opinion.
  14. Same just happened to me, I hate credit cards, will you take a cheque?
  15. My td5 had very similar symptems and I tried all the useual stuff, crank sensor, MAF, filters etc, etc. In the end it was a split turbo pipe. Little bugger was hard to spot as well.
  16. Cheers, will call him tomorrow

  17. We have a job coming up in Lincoln next week and could do with a lift, we need a 2/3 man team with truck and chipper to muck in with a team of our lads. It's mainly reducing an overgrown Leylandii hedge and tidying up two blocks of small woodland under TPO. We also need a woodchip tip local, there will be a small amount of wood. Either PM, e mail [email protected] or 01902 892652 Bob
  18. Had an e mail this morning which is as follows:001_smile:. I guess all sellers on the firewood directory had the same message. ello! We are firewood manufacturing enterprise from Latvia. We can offer dry and fresh birch and alder firewood in bags and box. We can made all kind of size. If you are interested to make long term business then please contact me and send me your offer.
  19. Count me in, if the thread should get lost as they some times move down the list please PM me to give me a prod. I dont always go through every thread, well I never go through every thread, you what I am saying.

  21. I think it should be you first, tell us your rates and we will tell if your right.
  22. Sad news, so young and so much to live for, R.I.P.
  23. I have this in Wolverhampton, there is probably 100 tons altogether with about 50 tonnes of it being good hardwood. It is seasoned and we can load and also split the larger trunks with our cone splitter if required. It is a mixture of all sorts, if it grows in England then it's probably here. Can buy by the tonne but do not have any means of weighing it locally so would rather you look and bid if interested. I would guess there is two artic loads of useable wood in total. pics217.jpg pics218.jpg pics219.jpg pics220.jpg
  24. There is no comparision really, the 240 is another 30% bigger, stronger, tougher but you need something decent to pull it around. Our td5 which is chipped is just about ok. We save it for special occaisions:001_smile: It makes the 190 look lightweight. Yes still got the 190 at the moment.
  25. I have one, in better nick than that though. Sound bit of kit, wouldn't be without ours.
