  1. I searched for Wolverhampton area and there wasn't a supplier, there is now hopefully.
  2. I dont have any of it working sorry. When I said the tractor was rear steer I meant it has two steering wheels, two clutch and two brakes so you can drive it forwards or in reverse. They used to use for harvesting crops like suger beet but that is no more around here. Think it comes from Poland now?.
  3. We have a miller 150 mounted to 125hp Valtra Valmet, the tractor has rear steer which helps when moving from stump to stump. About Us | Wolverhampton Tree Service | WOLVERHAMPTON TREE SERVICE. Official Website.
  4. Had a couple of Ash logs so knocked this up yesterday on the Lumbermate. Took about two hours and will take another hour to tidy up and finish off. Six foot long x four feet high. Would be worth about £5.00 as firewood. 015.jpg
  5. No I hadn't, just looked at their web site and will give them a call in the morning, thanks.
  6. I spoke to Riko but for the size of trailer I need they put me onto Atkison Vos and hence the Timber Dragon
  7. Thanks for that, Marshalls are sending me some details.
  8. We have a lot of thinnings to remove from a sloping woodland and are thinking of buying an Atkinson Vos Timber Dragon to put behing a compact tractor. Timber Dragon Trailers from Atkinson VosAtkinson Vos Ltd TP Woodchippers They show it behind a quad but I think a quad would struggle for what we are doing plus you would need the power pack. The reason we are looking at this is it would be able to get in amongst the rows.
  9. My felling license came through within one week, Bridgnorth, Shropshire. I looked at a WIG but for what I would get back decided to do it myself and not be tied into the system.
  10. I like the simplicity of it. Would it be possible to fit some form of linkage to flick the chain brake on when the cut is finished then flick it off again when you pick the saw up to begin the cut. Not a criticism, just a comment.
  11. I should have shown you the cone splitter in action while you were here but judging from the amount of timber you have in stock it will be a while before you need anything like that. Lumbermate next:001_cool:
  12. Now Sold

  14. We have a Volvo EC25 (2.6 tonne) which also powers the cone if the bigger machine is out on site. The Volvo has the power to split the timber but cannot pick up the logs and stack like the bigger machine.
  15. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/17825-log-stump-trumk-splitter.html If you check out the pic's in this earlier thread it shows the claw which is welded to the dipper arm. It's there for when the bucket is attached and we move timber around and also to help get more woodchip in the bucket when we load the lorries. It does fold flat against the underside of the arm but there is no need when using the cone. We use the cone to reduce larger trunks to a size where they will then fit through the processor and stacks them ready for processing at the same time. Saves cutting trunks into rings, saves petrol, quicker than cutting rings, easier for the operator and if you have a trunk which has nails or ironwork it often exposes them. We split a load of old Conifer and Willow roots the other which had been in the yard since last summer. There was probably two eight wheeler loads which it reduced to bits small enough a guy can pick up in about two hours.
  16. I bought it at the APF in September from Davies Machinery. It really is as good as new. You are welcome to come and put some timber through it, I am around over the weekend if you want to call. 01902 892652 Bob.
  17. Hakki Pilke 1x37 - Arbtalk Classifieds £5000. + VAT.
  18. We split the trunks then put them through the processer. You need a 360 for the cone splitter but we use this for extraction and loading anyway. Fresh Ash splits quite easy. pics 073.jpg (115.2 KB) 5.jpg (69.2 KB)
  19. We haved a mini flail mower which fits a 360 from 3 tonne to 5 tonnes or if you have access to a tractor we have a chain swipe which is like a pasture topper but heavy duty. The chain swipe is much quicker but if it's a building plot I guess you will be having a 360on site anyway. WOLVERHAMPTON TREE SERVICE. Official Website.
  20. Great condition, £4250. see classified for pictures.
  21. We have had the diesel waxing in just about everything this week so gave in and broke up for Xmas early. Our 7.5 tonne Iveco would not turn over monday morning, didn't even try so poured hot water over the starter motor and it did the trick.
  22. A mate of mine erects wooden buildings such as garages, workshops and smoking shelters mainly from Oak. One saturday night him and his mrs shut the front door on their way out to the pub and as they walked down the garden path they heard an explosion from the house. He went back in to find the doors blown off the log burner and the lounge covered in bits of embers from the fire. He had put some Oak off cuts on the fire which had origionally come from Belgium. Some how a WW2 shell must have become lodged in the fork of a tree which grew around it. The amazing thing is it had been felled and gone through the sawmill yet still ended up as the off cut that went on his fire. The insurance took a bit of convincing but did pay up.
  23. Ours has the transportation kit and it can be up and mobile within 20 mins of finishing work. Takes a little bit longer to set up as it needs to be level to cut correctly but it only takes maybe 30 mins depending on the ground.
  24. hopefully changed, it carries a bit more than that:biggrin:. Thanks for the heads up.
  25. 7.5 tonne Daf with full test, secure storage locker and still carry signs, cones and a decent load DAF 7.5 Ton tipper on eBay (end time 09-Dec-10 12:02:38 GMT)
