  1. Driving through Liverpool a few years ago and saw 80 OBS, they had put the screws in the centre of the 0 and O and put them together 80OBS
  2. Me and Mrs with the roof tent on the 110 and the Oz Pig cooking breakfast 110_WITH_ROOF_TENT.jpg (91.2 KB)
  3. Are you looking to hire just the mulcher or do you want it with the tractor. I have a Seppi mulcher which we use with a reverse drive Valtra, depending on wether they want the stumps out we often use it with our 7.5 tonne 360 which goes in front and rows the trees up which makes the job a bit quicker.
  4. Goodwinch Winches & Parts, Electric Winches and Winch Bumpers, UK – Goodwinch.com David Bowyer is the man, what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing and he is helpfull. Dyneema bowrope is good stuff, stronger than steel but a little bit expensive
  5. If we are talking about the same SAS they were in Malvern last time I dealt with Paul 07799 642481/01684 892856, he is a helpfull guy I would certainly give him a call.
  6. Not sure what you mean by 'numb'?. We have a Miller 150 PTO driven grinder which we use on the back of our Valtra. If you have a large amount of medium or large stumps then its without doubt the tool for the job but you do need a fair few to warrant the expense of getting a peice of kit like this to a job, we have a tracked Vermeer SC60 which is just about as much as you would want to tow behind a Land Rover and that can sort out a few big stumps in a day but the Miller is the one for the big stuff, its unstoppable with 125hp driving it.
  7. Very true, the lads name is Russ Griffiths and he used to work for me but has now gone to Oz with his wife after getting fed up with the way it is here. He did hit the driver with a monkey wrench, the driver lost control and veered off the road and they all ended up in a ditch, a transit van pulled up and the driver/thief got in and off they went leaving him with truck and chipper in a ditch with the engines still running.
  8. A 110 will have a Salisbury back axle which literally are bombroof, I have one in the truck that I compete in, with 36" tyres it has never let me down. You can pick up a complete axle for £150, halfs shafts are going for £20/£30. We have a 130 tipper with a 200tdi which has done 175,000 and still pulls well, no smoke and starts first turn of the key no matter how cold.
  9. Earlier this year we had job felling the trees on an island, all the woodchip and timber could stay but of course how do you get a chipper across the water to the island, if you have a Defender then its possible. You need to make sure the fuel tank is waterproofed and before anyone mentions it, all the fish had been taken out. 1.jpg (80.4 KB) 2.jpg (77.2 KB) 3.jpg (77.5 KB) 4.jpg (63.0 KB) 5.jpg (59.8 KB) 6.jpg (57.8 KB) 7.jpg (54.2 KB)
  10. Yes I know Pugwash he is a sound bloke, used to have a Range Rover but defected to the dark side and bought a Landbruiser:sneaky2:. I spoke with him the other day, he will be up at my place next week collecting some wood for his wood burner, guess once he has cut and split it all he will be down to 17 stone:001_smile: I remember him saying his bro was a wood butcher:thumbup:
  11. They are Fedima 35"x16" which actually stand at 36", with bead lockers I run 8psi on the rear and 10 psi on the front.
  12. No not many, I have seen two in the last five or six years. I know they use them in Oz but not many here or the rest of Europe. Seen one Hilux, a few Jeeps, quite a few Suzukis but of course its mainly Land Rovers and in particular Defender 90's.
  13. Me and the Mrs often have a play in the mud with our old one, we do a few winch competitions. You will note I do the technical stuff and she has all fun of running about in the mud getting cold and wet 75098_496191291943_648291943_7073376_2355523_n.jpg (120.0 KB) 76087_496191211943_648291943_7073375_7595965_n.jpg (130.7 KB) 76736_496186106943_648291943_7073322_7693125_n.jpg (66.8 KB
  14. I wouldn't say we were a big company and the nearest we have to a geek is me:001_cool:.
  15. Today I signed 11 pages of a a 496 page document for a job which will take us two days to complete and while I am HSE conscious I think this is a little bit OTT. This an all time first for me, my previous best was 115 pages and I thought that was big. Who on here would or could read and understand some thing that big and complex.
  16. Dont try walking there, go by plane. I know a few lads who have been out and were not keen on the size of the spiders which inhabit the trees.
  17. IIRC the age limit for driving a tractor is 14.
  18. Bosch AKE 30 Li-ion Cordless Chainsaw 36V | Screwfix.com Its a Bosch cordless chainsaw
  19. So your time is more important than everyone stuck behind you:001_tt2:.
  20. No, I think you are getting confused with BMW drivers.
  21. I drive our tractor quite regular and there are some people who will not overtake me no matter how straight and clear the road is. I think tractors should pull over at every opportunity (highway code) when needed and anyone who doesn't is a first class plonker, having said that, anyone who has the chance to overtake and does not take it puts other drivers under pressure to overtake them and the tractor which of course makes matters worse.
  22. Johnny, is that a twin cylinder kohler and what teeth you using on your little beasty.
  23. It is quite good, I like it. Have you ever considered a Health and Safety section, I seem to spend most of my working day on this subject.
  24. New ‘fee for intervention’ proposals mean businesses which are found by HSE inspectors to be in breach of health and safety law will be charged so that HSE can recover costs. The level of charges would depend on the amount of time HSE has to spend on making sure employers put things right. I know we are all whiter than driven snow but there are times when even the best can make a mistake and it's just another money making idea which will of course put prices up, it's not just Arb, it's every business going.
  25. Take a look - nothing at all to do with me, just passing it on. Worthwhile, I have already been there. Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme (FFIS) - Rural Development Programme for England
