  1. I keep saving my Yew (plus various other timber) and have around 10 tonnes in the hope that some one will want it, it would be a sin to cut it for firewood.
  2. A bit more info Devon 4x4 Forum :: Topic: RRC 2.8 isuzu Ashcroft auto lockers OFFERS? (1/1)
  3. Scala rider, which are simply what bikers use, they are ok but distance is a problem some times when she goes out of sight the signal tends to dissapear which is a nuisance.
  4. Jon, we use standard winches and twin motors on 24v, for what you do a standard 8274 is more than up for the job.
  5. I may have put this on before I can't remember, its what we use at the moment for competing. It may not look much like a Land Rover but its a Discovery 2 chassis and running gear with a 4.2 V8 with megasquirt pushing it along. The roll cage and body work is by Malcolm Whitbread in south Wales, he certainly knows his stuff, it is called the Thug for obvious reasons. It is road legal although we do not use it on the road. thug on rocks 2.jpg
  6. I bought it from south Wales but I think it was over Nottingham way.
  7. Me and the Mrs out for a drive in the country. vick and dawn 3.jpg vick and dawn.jpg vick and dawn 2.jpg vick and dawn 4.jpg

  9. Our Fire Engine, its a 200tdi manual. Fire engine.jpg
  10. This my Bob Tail Range Rover Classic, I have had it around ten years and it was a 3.5 v8 manual, it is now a 200tdi auto. It has many battle scars and looks rough but it very reliable and covers the ground well. I have been in a few tights spots over the years but we always managed to sort things out, the grandkids love it. BT2.jpg BT3.jpg BT1.jpg BT4.jpg
  11. I bought this in the summer, just couldn't resist it. It has a 2.8 Isuzu engine and auto box, Macnamara locking diffs, front mounted winch. It drives nice and is cheap to run. It has a demountable tow bar but I haven't actually towed with it yet. RRC.jpg
  12. Hey, would you like a job:thumbup:
  13. Kenty, thanks for your feed back and I would not dissagree, I am sure with time and commitment it would be achievable but at the present moment I have neither due to other stuff going on, its such a busy old life. I am trying to rehome her but if I can't then eventually it will be a one way trip. I don't want to do that but we simply cannot keep the two together again and I have no where else to put her. I am sure some one will want her, its just finding that some one. Bob
  14. A bit like this you mean Thug on beavertail.jpg Fortunately the company see it as advertisng and let me borrow the kit, I have a word with the company secretary and she ok's it with the boss, good job I am married to the co secretary and she is married to the boss.
  15. TBH I don't know which chassis it has but I do know the steering lock is hopeless, its like trying to turn an ocean liner, we have screwed the stops in as far as they will go but its not good at turning. It came with a bogey for lifting vehicles which has no use for us at the moment.
  16. Just got one off ebay and now looking for a few more!
  17. We have been out today with Roma and the grandkids and they all get along fine, she has been bought up with the kids, its just other dogs she doesn'tlike.
  18. Hahahahaha, you got a good memory Andy, that was the year Paul Gasgoine scored 'that goal' against Scotland IIRC.
  19. We have two dogs (bitches) and one has to go, they have fallen out big time and the brown one, Roma, needs a new home, she is around 1 year old prezer canair/staff cross, she does not get on with other dogs (bitches) but is affectionate with people, once you create a bond with her she is totally loyal and would protect you with her last breath, her name is Roma. She will sit and high five but do not expect more than that, most certainly not to be with other bitches. She has grown up with my grandkids and is used to kids, I have no problems with her being with the kids, her issue is purely and simply a dog thing. However, she is a dog and kids safety cannot be guaranteed. She is a perfect yard dog, she will bark at strangers but when you tell her thats enough she shuts up. The other dog in the pic's is a two year old Alsation and Roma is stronger than her, she has amazing strength for her size. Roma Dixie.jpg Roma Dixie 2.jpg Roma Dixie 3.jpg Roma Dixie 4.jpg
  20. After years of moving our plant around behind the Unimog and hiring transporters we have now bought our own tilt slide. It will carry the Valtra with the mulcher, we can get the site master on it and it has a decent crane. Its a 18 tonne Merc with tilt slide, we have had the crane fitted for timber grab and await the bed being converted to accept bolsters for carrying timber. We will be having a chip box made so it can also carry chip from time to time and are about to purchase a site welfare unit for when we do site clearance so the lads have some where a bit more spacious than the cab when the weathers bad. 21. We have a Green Goddess and it is truely a beast to drive having said that I do love to drive it now and again, wouldn't want to use it for work to be honest. We also had a 1956 Commer Q which had been an auxiliary fire engine, we used that through the 90's on a regular basis for work, it was like a troop carrier so not sure why it was labelled 'fire engine', we used to move our raft around on it when we did raft racing (charity/fun thing), it did 45mph flat out and you new you was doing it. Unlike the Goddess it has a great big bonnet which houses the engine, the N/S front bumper was guess work as you could not see it.
  22. This is often the issue, they travel miles as contractors or because the farm has been split up. By us all the old little pull ins have dissapeared over the years, there just isn't any where to let traffic past, the annoying thing is when the tractor driver passes one when he has a long long convoy behind now that is being an arse and does not help the situation.
  23. Problem with the 40/50kph is they are ok on flat and level but then dragged down to 20/30 on the hills quite often where you simply cannot get past. I don't think MoT is really an issue, they do or should be in a roadworthy condition.
  24. Not sure if this is the best place but its a start. Tractors are limited to 20mph on public highways, when did you last see one that has the ability to travel in excess of this speed limit actually travelling less than 20mph, not by us they don't, its pedal to the metal and get out the way I am coming through including the 3 mtr wide implement on the back that you cannot see to well. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/maximum-speed-limit-for-tractors-on-public-roads
