  2. Approx a transit load of Sycamore available today, its all cut and ready to go. Please call for address 01902 892652 Bob
  3. That might work, its an area of approx 4 acres but I can measure it to be more accurate. Do you have a rate per acre, might be best to have a chat. Bob 01902 892652
  4. We are looking for a contractor to weed treat a large area nr Walsall, West Midlands, they will need a quad or 4x4 or possibly even a tractor, does anyone know who does this on a larger scale in the area.
  5. They are not cheap, we had our's from these guy's. Seppi Forestry Mulchers | Lamberhurst Engineering
  6. I am sure you will find some thing of interest here, so much got me thinking. Woodlands.co.uk
  7. Not sure if Oswestery would be feasible to be honest, it would take me around 3 hours to load up and get there, half an hour to unload and another hour back.
  8. We have felled a row of mature Leylandii and have the timber available if anyone is interested. It is all in lengths and there is approx 4/5 transit loads. It is ideal size for a processor If you want it you can have it for free if you collect, I can deliver but that would cost. Bob 01902 892652
  9. The wood in this instance was in Newbury and is now in Wolverhampton, if you would like some wood I have 80/90 tonnes available.
  10. Sorry but my feet just don't touch the floor at the moment, I still have loads of decent lengths, when I get five mins I will take a few pic's.
  11. Whilst carrying out some other work on our chipper we noticed the belts were not as good as they should be and really needed changing to 'be sure' they are not going to fail when on site. We called our supplier and asked the question to be told that no they are not covered, there was no dialogue about how or why we wanted to know this and we have ordered the new belts. There is nothing wrong with pully's or anything else associated with the belts they are quite simply not good enough to carry on doing their job and likely to fail. They have not been missused or abused and therefore should be able to continue doing what we need of them for a reasonable amount of time. The reason we think the belts are not good enough is, if you turn the belt inside out and depress with your thumb there are cracks. On the grand scale of things it's no big deal but when you stand back and add up all the other stuff that goes on during the daily battle it's another PITA you can do without.
  12. You have completely missed the point!.
  13. If you bought a brand new chipper how long would you expect the drive belts to last, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and would you expect them to be covered by the guarantee. Personally I think if I am parting with around 14k then nothing but the blades and filters are a wear part for at least the first 12 months. Your thoughts?.
  14. Wednesday this week for one day only approx a transit load of hardwood free of charge. Bob 01902 892652
  15. Yes that would be helpfull but the schedule states 'The several trees of whatever species standing within the area numbered A.1 on the map'
  16. That looks like a really good method, just wished I knew how to apply it. All of the Sycamores on site are either, saplings, young or semi mature, the parent tree was taken down in 2005 to make way for a car park and the ones left will have come from that. There are no mature Sycamores on site any more. I really doubt if any of the current Sycamores would have been there in 1973 and hence the reason why I want to age them.
  17. Yes, only the trees on site at the time the TPO was made are the ones protected, the tree officer has confirmed this to be fact so I just need to clarify what was there.
  18. I have a client who has an area TPO made in 1973 so everything on the site which was there in that year is covered. There are many self set Sycamores which have grown since the TPO was implemented and therefore not protected by the order and some of these are quite obvious. The species list in the order is not helpful because it simply say's any species on the site and does not give a list of what was there at the time. However, some are now semi mature and we need some sort of guideline to work to in order to know the general size of a 41 year old Sycamore and what can be removed. My question is does anyone here know roughly the size of a 30, 35, 40 or 45 year old Sycamore. If you are taking any down soon and you know the age maybe you could measure the dia when cut at ground level. Any help appreciated.
  19. I have come accross TPO plans/schedules with the wrong species and the tree officer has conceded and let them go. To be fair they were not great trees so it was not a big deal, I think if they had been good specimens we would have had a much bigger debate.
  20. We have screw which we bought from exac-one but we mount it on a 7.5 tonne 360. Not sure if it would fit on a skid steer.
  21. We carry one of these in each truck/vehicle MSA Regulation Spill Kit Race Rally Off Road | eBay
  22. Providing the blade is sharp then it cuts hardwood with relative ease. Having used it for a week now it really is a great bit of kit, so much faster and easier for the lads especially with Hawthorn. The job we are currently doing is pollarding at 2m and this resolves the issue of using a saw at that height.
  23. Today we have been doing hawthorn with the tree shear and mulcher, all untouched by human hands.
  24. They are £7,500 + VAT and that includes the bracket to fit whatever your machine might be.
