  1. Sorry. It's just that story really got to me.
  2. It's not an oak tree in twickenham is it? Haha I wasn't saying I wasn't a massive tree. Just can't understand putting two men into a tree at once?
  3. No Dean. That was a leylandii that got wiped out when it twisted off that crap hinge. Mozza should leave the stunt felling to the experts. He has been at garden centre all afternoon pricing up a new one.
  4. Sorry to sound negative but I'm intriuged as to how a 70-80ft tall tree with 40ft spread would take 3 days to get down?
  5. How does two men in a tree get it down quicker? Safely?
  6. Just noticed this comment and even with my crude sense of humour I feel that it is a bit too much in light of recent events. Being a father of two children I can only imagine the horror and trauma that family is going through. Please can a moderator delete this as I feel it has no place on this thread. Sorry Mark.
  7. Not hurt it? I'd have gobbed the section out and dropped the fooker through the hedge backwards hen swept the remains through the jensen. Only joking. Well spotted though Dean. Hat was actually the hanger that I leant out to, which caused me to notice Barney.
  8. Everyones running costs are different. So prices are always gonna vary. I think the general public will literally faint on the spot when you tell them it will cost 3grand to cut a tree down. Even if at that price you make very little actual profit.
  9. This job was from 2weeks ago. I've only just had time to sit down and upload he pics with trying to get everything sorted before my opp.
  10. The press won't be informed. His name is barney. Not Barry.
  11. His name is Barney and he is my friend.
  12. I think Mick Stockbridge has bought a job lot of these haha
  13. No sign of mum or dad, once we spotted Barney, we didn't want to hang around too much longer. My question is: in the current financial climate, how many companies wouldve put everything on hold for something like this? I know legally no-one is gonna say anything other than what's right and I know there isn't really an answer to the question but it is worth a thought. I think.
  14. Heres some pics of a recent job we "tried to do". Spec was to dismantle ash tree leaving 3mtr monolith for habitat. Barb wire stock fencing was removed and temporary electric fence put up to stop the cows being nosey, tractor and trailer turned up, tractor with PTO chipper turned up, ropes where installed, first section was crashed out in 3 big lumps then I noticed something which somewhat spoiled our plans. Lucky for the little fella that I noticed him as that section was the next target for the chop.
  15. Been having bonfires?
  16. Firstly there is no such thing as jjb anymore. It has changed. Erm with regards to the trees. BS5837? Any surveys and action plans done?
  17. Get a decent fork and lift the dents back out the lawn. Simples.
  18. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Takes vision to notice what a photo needs to "put it right". Oh and the doctored one is the one I was after.
  19. My prices are now £95 top quality, £85 mixed hardwood, and £70 softwood. Hahahaha
  20. I think exclusivity rights for retail will have a massive effect on potential sales aswell. I know loads of tree cutter wannabes round here who would buy a calender like that but don't use Arbtalk so will be oblivious to it's existence.
  21. Oh yeah so he did. I'm getting confused because I had the idea in 09.
  22. I like the idea of involving The members in either capacity. Wether they be in the photos or getting credits for taking photos. Oh and it was my idea not johns about the competition. Thanks mate. Lol
  23. Yeah that's exactly the sort of thing. Fully adjustable. For different mowers. Get it bought.
