  1. HAhahahahaha please tell me that was a joke. Right?
  2. Not anywhere near the tree. Pretty muh everything is gonna be sliced up small and carried out.
  3. Somwehre to off load all arisings. Or even better. Someone to come and get them. Haha.
  4. Takes me 6months to fill a dumpy bag.
  5. anyone else wanna lend a hand or 2????
  6. i have a bit of new england hiivee that used to be a climbing line, then failed loler, then got used 3 times to tow a 2.6tonne transit, then has been used for light weight lowering and pulling ever since. you just cant break it.
  7. Jam too much??? I can grip my knot and zipline to the deck from 20feet in about 2 seconds?? I like it short for close control and when leaning right out on tip reductions and you just need that extra couple of inches, the vt is fairly near my hand for releasing.
  8. why would you have a knot and a splice??? you would have to take into account how worn the rope is aswell.
  9. any knot reduces tensile strength by about...........erm............wait for it.............cant quite remember now. Think it is by between 40 and 60 percent. Scary huh???
  10. Having seen the picture of you in those dark green bib n brace looking like something out of deliverence I don't really like the idea of you "bending over backwards" deep in some dark woods. Hahahahahaha no, seriously. Great idea mate. Wish I lived closer. Not got a huge interest in funghi but have a huge appettite for learning. As i am sure I would from you. Good show old chap.
  11. I've got a husky 181 you could purchase.
  12. I reckon it was just lucky it was spotted. Hope it's ok. A rare experience indeed.
  13. Tree isn't actually in twickenham. But near enough. Didn't want. To post actual spot incase someone went cold calling and robbed the job haha. At the moment they are welcome to it. However if we can get a plan together I would love to do it. It's a brute and it's one of them jobs that gonna take some thinking about.
  14. I have photos of the tree already but don't really want to post them on here. Not yet anyway. Can you get a chipper?
  15. This is gonna be good. Are you busy next week?
  16. with the "old man" taking wraps around the 13.5ft trunk, what could possibles go wrong.
  17. Only dependent on the risk assessment:001_tt2: Yeah, I'd like to see the risk assesment for this job. I'd have said that a half hungover joe making a cut on an angle like that whilst nearly falling asleep was perhaps the risky part of that job.
  18. Do you have a yard and need for loads of firewood? You can come and get paid to take away all the arisings if you like? Then you can laugh all you want. Photos? No....headcams and film crew.
  19. Right so, after that mahoosive euca dismatle I witnessed on thursday, 18stoner will be climbing and providing 3 strand blue polypropylene. I'll film it and provide mucho woop wooping and yeehaaing from the ground. Mozza will bring the jetboil and provide refreshments. Stevie Blair can bring Gloria cos there is no access for bigger chippers. Who else do we need?
  20. I thought you were on the wind up mate when you said about subbing me back in. Haha will have to sort out somewhere to offload all the arisings first as it's a fair old treck up the m1 with the vast amount coming off this beauty. Could be one of the most talked about trees / videos in arbtalks history if all goes to plan might well need some ground help but will ring plippy before I ring mozza. Hahahahahaha
  21. Thanks pete but this is a serious thread. Haha. The tree is dead as dead can be and can't be accessed with a mewp. Headcams will be purchased if job comes off. Plus it is on estimate 100ft plus.
  22. Hi. I have the potential of a huge job around the twickenham area in London. Sorting it will be a massive logistical nightmare and not sure wether or not to even price for it. My question is, is there anyone in or around this area that might be able to help a fellow arbtalker out by finding a home for approx 15 to 20 tonnes of processed oak. Logs and chips. Tree is a monster and dead and will have to be picked apart in small pieces because of various targets. Any help or offers of help would be greatly appreciated. What can you do for me?
  23. Well they should be. Especially for drunken reprobates like you. Haha
  24. The extremes are basically the Trekkers but with a really rugged toe cap once you take the little spikes off the bottom. If you like the Trekkers you will like the extremes. Depending on price I would probably just get some more Trekkers though bud.
  25. Why hasn't joe got any chainsaw gloves on whilst operating a chainsaw on the ground?haha call yourselves AAAC.
