  1. I actually thought about dong this last year and had a chat with steve bullman about the possibilty of doing it and the allowance of using the Arbtalk brand name etc. In the end I didn't have time to even think more about it but if you are serious about doing this one then I would be more than willing to help out as much as I can. My idea was for the guys on the forum to post their favourite pictures of themselves "in action" (so to speak), then doing a vote on which where the best 12. The winning 12 would be the main picture for each month and the runners up would get small inlay photos in the corners etc. Try and raise awareness of pro tree work, harnesses, helmets, ropes, pulleys etc. What do you reckon?
  2. I've got a few days bed rest so will be doing a load of organising and ringing round. I'll sort a colour online flyer out and sort a facebook page. Any more ideas or input much appreciated. Anyone wanna help just pm me your mobile numbers and I'll bell you.
  3. Happy belated birthday old timer. Have you started making that groaning noise when you bend over for something like Deano?
  4. Sorry to sound so pessimistic but as the question is so vague I have a feeling that this business is doomed to failure to start with. His may be because you are new to the forum and wanted to test the water with your first thread. Best way to transport firewood? Depends on quantity and where you are transporting it too. If you want to transport a wheelbarrow full across a lawn, then use a wheelbarrow. If you want to transport 10tonne through a forest uphill then don't use a wheelbarrow. How much you want to produce will determine what sort of processor you want. If you where to be more specific then you might be able to get a bit more help. Lots of knowlegable lads on here willing to offer a tip or two. Good luck.
  5. Good luck for saturday mate. Hope all goes well for you and the sun is shining. Have a great day. Nervous?

  10. I just love your passion and honesty mate. refreshing to see. I call you a loony because in hull if you talked about mushrooms and fungus with the enthusiasm that you do, you would get locked up hahaha
  11. Twist and pulse to win.

That knot looks ugly tom. Sorry but it does. Lol
  13. I think anything would grip that dirty old New England Hivee. Haha
  14. In all honesty I think the quote came from James Dean. He was a rebel without a cause unlike tony who is a rebel with a cause. Lol
  15. Tony: Dream as if you may life forever Live as if you may die tommorrow Inspirational you are chum. (still a loony though) haha
  16. Stevie won't mind. As long as there is good food and good conversation. I'm sure. Depends how quickly he needs to get home though. Might do this as a seperate event so people aren't knackered after a show. Not sure yet. Still in planning stage. Any help would be appreciated as my partner in crime is moving to Sweden on the 15th to chop foreign trees down.
  17. If you had all bought the limited edition Arbtalk tshirts from fr jones then we wouldn't need secret handshakes, prussik dances, Viking helmets or weird mushroom hats from 90's computer games.
  18. I'm not sure I liked the "and even Frank" comment. I believe it should have started with Frank and then said "oh and the rest of the guys too", but mainly Frank. "Its his happy go lucky outlook on the world that keeps everyones moral up" I think your a bit of a loony bin and would have very much liked to have met you at Capel.
  19. But that would surely involve us having to see your grumpy mug. Haha. I'll get back to you mate. Your quite central I suppose.
  20. That's a good idea Tom. Will think about that. Would you guys really want to do hat or would you have tunnel vision on the motorway and just want to get home. As for venue, I'm gonna sort summat out to suit everything but don't worry I'm not putting a climbing frame in my back garden Pete. Haha
  21. Well, there was me thinking you were super Hama. Spoilt it haven't you. Haha cheers mate, knew they weren't an issue to tree health and fairly common, I was just looking for a fancy latin name to astound my clients and bore my wife with.
  22. Describing something as "prussik line that will last", is very vague. When you consider that prussik is a type of knot. Not a technique or climbing system. Any line or cord could essentially be called a "prussik line", or any other knot. It's still listed as accessory cord. If it's not ce marked then you can't put it through loler. If you can't put it through loler then you can't use it for professional use. Doesn't mean people won't. I never put my friction cord through loler.
  23. Cheers Dave. Always rely on you monkeyboy.
  24. Can MonkeyD or Hamadryad tell me what the red infection is called on the tillia?pretty please.
  25. A bit like saying someone bought a baseball bat and didn't use it for baseball surely. ?????
