  1. So basically if I didn't quote for or do any of my own jobs and only went and climbed for other firms then I wouldn't need PL or EL insurance. Just some sort of tool cover?
  2. No employers liability covers sub contractors aslong as It specifies bonafide sun contractors?????????? I think.
  3. I was under the impression that to freelance (subcontract), you needed to have your own pl insurance regardless of companies own insurances, pl/el etc.
  4. Get insurance. Arbtalk is a great place to get more contacts. Change your signature so underneath every post you make it reminds people that there is a 13 years experienced free lance climber available. Good luck.
  5. If the southerners put as much interest into their own getogether then they might actually organise something worthwhile. Haha
  6. Won't be power sapping with a lock out on front and rear. Duh. More inclined towards hardtail with decent front shockers with lockout for road use. Gonna get 2 sets of rims with road and off road tyres. Budget at the moment stands at around the £650 mark. Found a realy nice looking CUBE at chainreactioncycles.
  7. Just found a kona hei hei full suspension on flea bay. Might have to go for it. Was thinking of goin down the build myself a beast route. Just pricing up all parts and could unleash a monster.
  8. I'm currently in the Market for a half decent mountain bike or hybrid road bike to get fit and have a bit of fun on some trails. Been smurfing the web for a few days now and found CRCycles in IrelandBicycles | Bikes | Mountain Bikes | Road Bikes | MTB Bikes | Bike Parts | Bike Frames | Road Frames | MTB Frames which seem pretty good and have some bargains. It has been a long while since I sold my last bike (kona fire mountain) and it seems to be an absolute minefield with sooooo many variations and setups. Anyone here got any tips for choosing or which parts to upgrade etc etc let's see some pics of your bikes.
  9. All harnesses are strong enough for any human being.
  10. Get some pics of the trees. Decent ones. For the compeition I have in mind we need quite a specific open spread tree, doesn't have to be the tallest but doesn't want to be single stemmed. Oak, plane, beech, whatever?
  11. If I was looking for work and saw an advert like that I would have been too busy dialling the phone number to have typed a reply. Fact.
  12. My 9 year old has been walking around chanting "In-ger-land" for the last fortnight. It's starting to go right through me. He asked if we could put a massive flag outside the house tonite.
  13. Are you there yet battyboy?

  14. Does his initiation involve lunge posing?
  15. Is it possible to use veggie oil from asda or is it exclusively tescos?
  16. In all fairness, hasn't he just put the word stihl in the description to get interest. Is it actually listed as a stihl made chainsaw?
  17. You said it. Not me. Haha
  18. Loads of cheapo jap ones on eBay. Get it bought.

    Tv adverts

Just had an offer of putting an advert on the big screens in the local garden centre on the gardens channel. Anyone had any experience of this? Pros/cons? Adverts are shown every 20 minutes and last either 10-15-20 or 30 seconds long. All the design is done by the company and the tv advert is web site compatible so would kill 2 birds with the same stone. What do you guys reckon? Have you done this? Do you think it would get any leads?
  20. So has this ever been resolved? Reasons for the thread?
  21. So do you want 2tonne of logs or a 2tonne trailer full? Could be very different things.
  22. That's obviously what I meant. Just like making a fool out of myself. Doh!
  23. What was wrong with your ladders on this job Steve? Haha
  24. Have u ever though about some sort of partnership with another self employed person. Join forces and see what you both bring to the "party" , then work out a fair day rate for each of you after seperate expenses? Might be alot of hassle or might be just the ticket.
