  1. I have roof rack on mine , roof opens cab clear. Jobs a good un
  2. Don't really post much on the work pic front, This was this mornings job, a hot day for it and I really don't know how you boys do it in Australia and the like, hats of to you..but I was done before 12 so not hot missed the afternoon sun but hot enough. The objective is to leave a dead habitat monolith just above the crutch and I was asked to chug down as big a bits as possible for the use as barriers etc, when I got down for a cool down, ( sat in truck in my pants) before I went up with the 66 I phoned the customer and said why not get the tractor with winch and pull the remaining stem over and then it would be useable for their saw mill or what have you? well I did have my fingers crossed and as luck had it they agreed.. So all is left is to go back early next week get up attach cable clean stem and stick in a gob and drop and then reduce the right branches to the given spec. I will post up end pics Then of I went to cut back some hazel from a phone line on the way home early. quite a boring post really.....
  3. At least good posts coming out now! It is a forum eg some people go on about how great landies are some say they are crap, some tree work is put up and good discussions comes from it too agree and disagree Stump grinder I agreed and by 'Rio' that a lot of people are worse of and he has a right to his opinion and its true as commented by others I always thought a stiff upper lip was a British trait not moaning.... but then again I'm stuck in the 50's. Personally now I will ignore any negative sounding threads because they seem to be popular 'pulling hair', 'recession' etc and its going to get a lot worse. Maybe there should be a 'moaning' thread in the business section. ON a positive note I'm off to look at some informative threads now and see what I can learn or maybe get some inspiration on stuff
  4. I cut down an old 110 station wagon one that had been slightly damaged
  5. Just started a big order soon ready to go out. Nothing better than a big stack...
  6. ouch! Yes leave it as said in previous post and hope for the best, next year you will have new water shoots everywhere and be best to reduce some and remove others and the large verticals you have to try and regain form over time.
  7. On the bright side trees won't strop growing because of a recession nor will duty of care cease. If your up to the hilt on loans and the like things will get tight for sure but that's why in the good times you should Get ahead to be able to ride out the rough. Isn't that what business is all about not so much the now but being prepared for what's round the corner? So it's a kind of natural selection survival of the fittest. Harsh but true..some will fall and others will strive Its not a game
  8. There are so many factors as covered in pricing thus far Just price with what you are happy with and don't worry about what other people charge , you know your overheads and experience As Andy pointed out kit is a big part eg I can move 10t in one hit so if quoting on a large takedown I am more competitive on price Than some one with a pick up/ tipper but that's not cause I've undercutt and being sneaky its just less time and motion on job. I will be honest and straight with customer and charge a fair price and if I don't get it at that ( very rarely) It wasn't meant to be, the haggling customer who wants everything for nowt in my experience is a customer I frankly really don't want. We will never compete with the fly tippers etc but you can be sure that once bitten the customer will look for a more professional out fit next time and makes the proffessional more appreciated in the long run. You where happy with your job so was the customer you took your time and and pride , good on you and as you progress you will become more efficient and in turn earn more. Sounds like the beginnings of a professional to me
  9. Proud ! man that's the monkeys nutts If it was a chick id marry it NOW and love it forever
  10. I average 30mpg in commercial disco td5 sometimes a bit more on longer runs always take of roof rack when not needed etc
  11. I find myself shaking a handset of a land line due to iphone
  12. Maybe you should have just smiled at the 'scam' comment and patted your back pocket.. Doesn't sound like they warranted you wasting your breath, left to the likes of them I doubt we would have anything to breathe. Love to get some air spading in ,you lucky man
  13. One tip I was told was keep all crime numbers of damage/theft from property etc as this can be another feather in your cap to help towards gaining consent if you are combining with business
  14. I hope Haye gives him a good beating. as for example to young kids well , video games robbing guns and violence, gansta rappers, countless films influence youngsters older brothers pier's the list goes on.. They are fighters and no doubt much good at anything else but it takes determination, dedication and skill to be at there level, yes money men are behind organizing it but it wouldn't happen unless the boxers also did agree and desire fame revenge/ face or dollar or whatever they seek.... You cant expect people in that sport all to flower arrange or save dolphins many they want to smash people up and when there brain clicks into fight mode they will go hell for leather and that's what happened at Berlin . they lost control that is the bad thing and a BAD example to other's. But come on!! NOT the forthcoming fight it may be a cracker and hopefully be worth the hype as we all know many are not..... Tyson?? ear biting rapist? now he aint no good examle
  15. Your not secretly going to pop up on our Screen 'Britains got talent' are you Dean..?
  16. He's da MAN ! That's why this forum is brilliant as there is always someone round the corner who just knows ohhhhh its like mechanical porn
  17. Lol that made me laugh Mind u they wouldn't last long if there compitition quoted a £1 for a big take down....... Otherwise it's trade description act
  18. If all of your water pipes arent leaking/ split cracked, (I'm sure u said you where losing water in a post?) you might want to look for mayonnaise in your oil nr filler etc or in water. You also mentioned that you were getting the head skimmed? So I would reckon you are seeing water (white) coming out your back end , yes dean you are right in saying its steam. Skimmed head may be needed plus or just a new head gasket , it depends and hard to say as it may be a new vehicle to you and has been boiled before etc etc before you owned it. Just as you bung on fresh green waste on a fire you get white smoke/ steam
