  1. Thanks for your comments Nifty I will do if that's the route I take Kjames the ones I have been offered have the square chunky pattern so I guess they are similar. When I do go off road it is on sensitive sites so I would be avoiding wet and muddy days to avoid making rutts etc and the foot prints on drives on hot days is a good valid point.
  2. Its pretty local to me ,Have you seen some of the vehicles for sale! God knows how they can command or get the prices they ask for on some of the old series vehicles i was pretty shocked they have just been sprayed over on top of the old peeling paint and there 7gs plus....!

    Mog tyres

I've got 14.5 x20 agri pattern (sPeed related)on my Mog and at some point will need to get 2 new tyres as the other 2 are very good. Now I have been offered 5 new tyres less aggressive tread at a good price. Now the thing is they are 13/20 so apart from lower top end n better I guess pull N take off and less turf damage what else have I not thought of? Obviously I can sell on the 2tyres to get some money back Pros n cons from those in the know please Thanks in advance:001_smile:

  6. I think it may have been Merrist Wood but cant really remember.....
  7. Do the new HH have velcro or is it a zip?
  8. The hennasy hammock is good that's mine two wks in the jungle but not much good up a tree as you get into it from underneath if you dont want to get eaten alive so your harness n line wouldn't be ideally set up. Tree boats are the ones I think
  9. :thumbup1:Nice mog ,liking the box
  10. Cheers geoff ! It goes down well but not the foot prints through the house
  11. Some cracking Cakes lol for a minute thought I was on WI FORUM I started baking bread a bit easier , really need to make two at a time though as I seem to eat it all while its still warm I don't half make a mess 1. white 2 50/50
  12. Surely it would have more sense for the foreman to have the for sight to take the first 4 out in two and then take the nearer ones out in smaller bits. sounds like he had a cunning plan 4 trees too late , time and pressure on his back making a bad call. as mentioned before bad practice if working near lines? but not doing utility work I cant comment but don't sound clever but what do I know.
  13. Good luck m8 Get a hearty meal an early night and a good breakfast, full flask, lunch and you will love it take your time communicate before n during with groundies know your limits and stay safe

  19. I can only comment on disco's had 200tdi that spent its previous life in suburbia and lasted a good few yrs with only new clutch and decent tires , ripped out back seats tinted back windows and it was bomb prof even took engine out and used it in my old 130. Then bought td5 commercial comfy secure and you can leave tools in it if you cant get on top of site ,had it 5yrs now only had to change suspension bags and compressor (recommended every 5yrs ) and fuel line that rubbed at the back chassis, flown through all mots except for front light pointing too high oh yeah and replaced brake pads, filters oil etc Admittedly its got a few dents from off road and from the first time I took it off road, smashed front light (that was the reason I went for the last of the old style lights as a replacement one cost £40 flea bay) and bonnet as some fool had changed the reverse gear position!! I even had it stuck in water for about 5 hours up over the front seats boxing day a couple of years back and all it did was tick along submerged and stink for a few months..! It cost me £2600 and spent about £650 on the above bits so not all horror stories. I love a bargain:biggrin: When you get out and shut doors it should hiss and drop about 20mm and you have to check it raises to off rd position with doors shut and bonnet otherwise it wont do nada so just open a window lean in and press the button. I do like my landy's as they have always been good to me but maybe I'm just one of the lucky few but it hasn't needed as much maintenance as the older ones Ive had. l200 i couldn't comment but like all things there are good and bad. Just don't jump on the first shiny thing you see you got the cash your in control not the seller but maybe that's teaching granny to suck eggs Good luck in your search
  20. I went for the austria harness for that reason as the bridge is wide and I just feel safer with it rather than others on the market , not saying that they are any better just my preference. Time for a new harness soon and I will look for same or similar especially now after watching that cause I'm even more convinced
  21. Button all the best and a speedy recovery Congratulations on the nearly new born! one thing I have never had the pleasure of , you will before you know it have your own little groundie waiting to take the ropes. As Andy said and give all our regards and best wishes to your misses
  22. Thanks yep its 1953 86' had it for a while now got it when I lived in Wales it had been sat in a shed unloved for 25yrs. bought for £280 I have spent hrs on her stripped right down repaired chassis (no patches), dog leg, bulk head top and bottom. new front springs, exhaust, later 2ltr spread bore from a 1958 (old engine had split block) new brakes, pipes and wiring loom, alternator conversion, new bakerlite horn dip etc etc only thing really needed now is a new ignition barrel as its a bit worn and then I can rest. Its been a long and enjoyable restoration but not concourse I had resprayed it after stripping but left it dull and its scratched but I can drive through the bushes without crying and use it as it was intended...! I will get it sign written by brush and then use it as advertising as I bomb about and it does go well, nippy and fun to drive
