  2. Great tree for a crane! I have some negative sounding questions but they're not supposed to be negative, genuinely interested Are you deliberately setting up the lift for the branches to move away from you as soon as the last cut releases the section? Do you/why do you seem to prefer doing the top cut first? I ask this as p prefer the opposite! In my mind I like to do the under cutfirst so once the saw is out, the weight can be lowered so te cut almost closes, then too cut in at an angle untill it is adequately stepped, saw out, reposition if needed, then signal for the lift Sometimes it looked like the second climber was in a bit of a dodgy area, or is this camera angle? Thanks
  3. Better than a transit then! Interesting prices Pete, what about propper lorrys, like. 7.5t iveco euro cargo tipper, what's that new? When I eventually return to the uk, and if I needed a chip/log truck it'd be a hgv, as its same with secondhand vehicles/prices I've noticed.
  4. Personally i think friction hitches days are short lived HSE wise, all it will take it is one person falling after climbing on an over worn hitch rope failing for HSE to look at what else is on the market. Think about it, try explaining to someone not in the industry, that you trust youre life in an 8mm bit of rope that you rub and deteriorate its condition everytime you move ...
  5. No offence but that's a **** idea Buy a mattock and save replacing bars, sprockets and saws as often
  6. Nice rich. What was the reason for he crane? Speed? What dia will the chipper take?
  7. Niftysteve fitted this burner to my mums new place. The hobbit, 4kw, biggest stove available to fit the gap already there. That will need small logs. If woodburners are about efficiency, what would be the point in having a big burner in a small room???
  8. I'll pre order one please Mark
  9. Very nice!

  11. Steamy autumn forest

  13. Nice homemade jobby! Felling dawgs make the users life easier IMO Stalling the saw? Burning the clutch? you guys
  14. Millings much tougher on he saw than cross cutting. If you've just got a 46 and have no real plans to get a 100cc plus saw maybe consider the mini mill, cheaper, smaller to store, still do 18" and prob what a 46 would be happy milling I was going to mill 16-18" with the 46 a few weeks back but bottled it and used the 88 instead
  15. How many loads with landy and trailer was that then hodge? Do you chip into trailer to increase capacity? Had help today
  16. A mate tried to but one locally a few days ago, but apparently they've all been recalled? Anyone know why?

    Dyna..

Earlier this year I pulled out a stuck dyna, stuck on wood chip 2inch high. Recovered it with a ford transit connect Real powerful though
  22. Here's the thread on its rebuild for anyone interested. And mikes right 4cyl 4x4sweden.se • Visa tråd - Franks Bj75 brukspickisen I don't think American vehicles are too big for the uk, I've had a small amount of experience driving and towing with Chevys in very tight roads and hairpin bends. Doubt they're any wider (non duallys) than a transit tipper. Certainly much easier to tow with The newer cruiser pickups don't look like 40k trucks, so i doubt any customers would batter an eyelid at you turning up in one, they look more like a work truck than ANY of the other double cab pickups available
  23. I put a bid in on this when it was for sale earlier this year, back for sale again, full rebuild 2years back, about 7k uk Toyota land cruiser BJ75 pickup | Gävleborg
  24. This years been a bit bland compared to the last few, think its becaus the weather hasn't been as nice, but stunning never the less!
