  1. I love this comment "I can remember removing one of these huge trees which was growing in between 3 houses, one of which was my sister's place in London. There was no way to drop the tree in a traditional way so I spent an entire week climbing up the 5 upward branches of this monster which was 160ft tall then roping myself off & cutting it into logs with a chainsaw I carried to London on the train from Cardiff which I then lowered with a rope & pulley. While working on it, my brother in law who was helping on the ground had a constant stream of homeowners offering me thousands of pounds to do the same for them because they also had a problem tree. "
  2. Sip freedom, front and back calf protection. Cheap
  3. Looks like a mock 5th wheel set up in last pic!
  4. Anyone who might be intersted but getting out off by 4 pages of crap, don't be. I've been going over to help mike for over 3years, mikes knowledge from starting as a real life "axe man" and working across the world is unique. Tree work is tree work, but in Bergen it's in stunning locations, normally more interesting than the uk and working with big kit......unimog, 10" chipper, Chevy v8 trucks are a bit different to a timberwolf and transit If you have a mature head, like to have a laugh and want to learn a lot fast, give mike an email
  5. Aspen is an expensive higher grade of clean burning petrol that should be considered PPE
  6. Only thing a wire core is good for is flipping up easier when pole/stem ascending
  7. Here it's common to ring bark the trees, let them die, then fell. Eliminates suckering and chemical free

  11. Is that because they don't look like Jessica Simpson or miley circus but more like Bart Simpsons aunts?!
  12. Well, a small log bag from the garage is about 7quid, therefor your trees are worth about 14k, but being hardwood and not softwood, your trees are a premium product, so add 25% so your trees are worth about £17,500 Hope this helps
  13. Prob best fly to Stockholm then train to Sundsvall/Härnösand then local busses, I don't know really as I always drive. There is an airport called midlanda between Sundsvall and Härnösand but I believe that's only local flights and you'd still need to travel quite a way Look on SJ.se - Tgresor - ett Bra Miljval - Start for cross country type trains from Stockholm to north There are bears about, I found poo 500m from the summer house If it was me, I'd fly to skavsta as cheap Ryan air flights, 13£ buss to Stockholm central, train to Sundsvall ir Härnösand then buss or 2 to where you want to go Skulleberget is worth a visit in that area, fantastic views and good info center
  14. You could try the high coast region/höga kusten, very beautifull. There's a walking trail that takes you up about a dozen peaks I think, at the top of most peaks is a cabin open to all with wood burner, wood, candles, board games and blankets ect if the weather changes. Late last summer I done a few near my girlfriends summerhouse in lövvik and diddnt see anyone!
  15. Looks great IMO! I don't get why people expect or want a work vehicle that's uncomfortable, crampt, noisey, dated, or why if it is new, comfy and nice to drive suddenly hate it?
  16. wouldn't it be great if there was a way of classifying all the tree names too? Nice post dean
  17. Perhaps it is a test, the page translates as rope climbing technology bench Edit, or not!
