  1. Europe is easy to just pop over and work in (for now!) This year i'll be having a few guys over for many short stints to alleviate workload. Tried it a few times last year and it worked well. (Sweden) Put a "Work Wanted Europe" ad up on here with a short CV ?
  2. Nice motors and nice gaff!
  3. Interesting mick, let us know your thoughts on it, more pics wouldn't go amis either. Is the infeed 24cm square? Ive only used the smaller ones, as Huck says, difficult to explain but great chippers!

    Stihl 462

Been using them for over a year, no problems
  5. KTS a very well thought out grab imo
  6. Yeah downrated to 18 from 20 to be in the 18 tax class. Ive a love hate relationship with it to be honest!
  7. Woke up to this today
  8. Is that a Vermeer option?
  9. What's the wifi controls Ian?
  10. A few years ago I was on a job with a Vermeer 160 and greenmech 130. We ended up parking the Vermeer in the corner and only using the greenmech. The 160 Vermeer was awful
  11. Some from today and last week, not very arby but more fun!
  12. Its not all about what the saw can handle for crosscutting though is it? If felling 3ft diameter trees, sure a 66 can pull a 36" or a 46 a 30" but it'll be a pain in the arse snedding it out with that length bar, risk of hitting the ground increases, manoeuvrability decreases etc. Spending a bit more time doing bar n a half felling cuts at the stump then quicker easier de-limbing is my personal preference
  13. Im looking forward to the 500i, but won't be buying one straight away, learnt its best to wait a year or two with new stuff. High hopes for it, Stihl are back on a roll at the moment with their products. the 462 is a brilliant saw and their new version of M-tronic is back on track. Perhaps the next generation of bigger output saws (395, 661, 3120, 880) will be fuel injected to meet emissions regs?
  14. Interesting looking infeed!
  15. Whats the chipper @bigtreedon
  16. Couple recent ones, had help of a 6x6 50 ton winch to yank over a fallen aspen away from electric lines and helping a colleague clear up a storm felled spruce
  17. Is that 2stroke additive they’re pouring in the chain oil tank?!
  18. Youd need this kind of trailer to get round the uneven weight when unloaded. Gould even mount the chipper on the rear on a turntable and side tip box on the front so your not limited to side chipping/can back up narrow drives to the pile
  19. Autos are a dream to tow with, if its like my hilux you can lock it from changing to a higher gear if you want engine braking or not to loose momentum going up a long steep incline.
  20. I know it’ll be a rail thing, but the mind boggles to why they’re pushing a self propelled unit which even has a turntable!
  21. Week 3 of picking spruce of houses.....
  22. Very impressive place!
  23. Thats a really kind offer. Thankyou @GA Groundcare Yeah Mick, You've been in the same situation before I'm sure, not so simple with 2nd hand machines from another country is it.
  24. Lunchbox and a ratchet strap
  25. @PeteB Orange plant and Timberwolf UK. Have a used chipper each listed on their websites that would possibly be of interest. 30days yes, but a new machine comes with 3years! Can you elaborate on buying a warranty? My thinking is I think it’s worth spending an extra 15k for a new machine exactly want I want, with warranty, local backup and hydraulic winch (so less than 15k if deducting the winch) thinking about it matty, ex hire is probably not the best idea ?
