yeah the 2wd one was commissioned by the military for parade ect-they thought itd cut costs over 4wd, but to make them 2wd, new front axle ect, in the small volumes anticipated, cost far more than standard 4wd!

saying that, in cambridge, parkside police station went and got an 'out of town' company to pollard the limes along the side of the station without getting permission-brown stuf hit the fan when the council and residents (who have the same row of trees outside their houses)found out! l/a does care in some cases -
made a good shape by reducing that extended limb sanny, was there a percentage the tree had to be thinned by? being picky, the upper and outer crown doesnt appear to have had much thinning done, whereas the lower and inner, possibly slightly too much, but thats prob due to the customer wanting an excessive lift/photo?! allways be safe than sorry with fencing, sheds ect. well done!

Pollard trees may attain much greater ages than maiden trees, because they are maintained in a partially juvenile state, and they do not have the weight and windage of the top part of the tree. when performed properly it is useful in the practice of arboriculture for tree management. Pollarding is also used in urban forestry in certain areas for reasons such as tree size management, safety and health concerns. It removes rotting or plagued branches for the overall health of the tree, living and dead branches that could harm property and people, as well as expanded foliage in spring for aesthetic, shade and pollution concerns. good old wikipedia! -

personally i think this management of limes is an effective one, which i like. pollarding is afterall a management technique of trees-trees have this funny habit called growing, and out growing their enviorment, sure, every 15 years you could fell and replace them to keep their size ideal for the surroundings, or, heres a thought, you could . . . .pollard! -
