  4. brilliant! "its a tree, thats what they do"
  5. wether or not the forces could be reduced, its a good video that demonstrates quality rigging and teamwork gradually slowing the limb down without shaking the climber off his perch yes the forces could have been reduced, but the lowering by mike and his groundy was well within the kits and the teams limits so no harm done (?)

  7. dont like them im afraid mick i like the information youve got on them, except maybe adding something like "felling, reducing ect" as many people dont know what tree surgery/tree surgeons are so you need to state the blinking obvious! but i dont like the colours or layout

  13. yep, both, bearing in mind the 2.5nad engine is sloooooooooooow
  14. what engine? guessing 2.5n/a diesel if original saw a 2.5na diesel tipper for sale wales somewhere for 1600? a simmilar one went on ebay a fortnight ago buy it now of 1300
  15. nice one, learnt a bit about electrics too! thanks timberwolf guy!
  16. i could bring some seasoned walnut/greenish ash/beech of that size down, 130 should be on the road next week so could take it in that, but was planning on going down early friday morning
  17. if you got a big felling bar on, i can sympathise with wanting to just swap for a sharp chain!
  18. hi mate, after using the method i stated above out of nesisaty for a while, took the time to have a fiddle today, the black wire with green tracer has a little in-line resister(?) near the infeed switch which had a snapped connection, so have temporally wired it together without the resistor thingy, what actually is it/part number/name/function? swapped the 5-pronged relay but no joy, replaced the switch, and it now works, although the old switch appeared to be functioning fine! but the orange wire isnt connected but all functions work! ????? looking at an old chippit, they dont have the3rd orange wire, what exactly is this and what is it supposed to do? thanks josh
  19. some nice poles there! if that helmet were to be 'misplaced' then would be the time to insist on a climbing one, on the other hand, plenty still climb with grounds helmets! ditto about the pegs, took a swing onto a peg on a dismantle and broke a few ribs, hate to think what they would do to youre danglies
  20. personally id spend 3k on the truck, best you can afford so maybe a mk4 hilux (2.4td) buy a tipper bed from a transit and either diy or pay a welder/fabricator to make it fit the hilux, sell the old buck, get some decent tyres and the rest on anything it may need
  21. and i cant belive anyone would post such a usless reply
  22. under a grand??? just got a 130, reckon it can be done for sub £200 i had the 2.4d hilux, good truck, harsh offroad as leaf sprung when empty, gutless if towing over a tonne paid 1400 for it
  23. i dont think its discrimination, its just a qualification that is important for you to be able to do the job, pricey it may be, but its an investment in yourself, youre future
