  4. yeah which is what i said-unless its going on the back of a tranny/landy its going to cost either a test for car and trailer (B+E), or a test for whatever hgv class (eg C or C1), then if they need to tow with the hgv over 750, another test (C+E or C1+E)

  6. or 2 tests if they want to tow over 750kg with vehicle over 3.5t so unless its going on the back of a tranny or landy, its goin to cost
  7. regarding twin batteries mike i wouldnt bother, just have a good condition standard one. few years ago i drowned one of our quad bikes in a ditch (flooded field, couldnt see ditch) took around 45 min to recover the bike, almost constant hard winching to get it to dryish land, with the engine off, so not charging. after draining the airbox ect and half a dozen spins the bike still started

  10. part of the past 2 days job on a construction site was 3 large beech to fell, being methodical is best, agreeing with swb we parked the chipper, rollers facing the butt of tree, 1 groundie chipping one dragging and me working outside in, cutting everything in chipper friendly bits, leaving the branches underneath/with weight, basicallw snedding the bigger branches then the trunk, once all the easy stuff is cleared, cut the supporting/tensioned branches and deal with the timber (crane for me:D ) otherwise its start at the butt flopping everything down either side if the tree neatly so the cord can be extracted or branches easilly dragged out the way to chip just be methodical and neat

  13. ah i see whats wrong now! when the machines have a bit of use theres a plastic bit which keeps the throttle lever at full revs (this is hidden), this can wear and the throttle backs off slightly, we just have a bungee cord from a pre made hole in the front of the side pannel to the throttle lever, job done!
  14. assoiation is a good way to learn, from associating the fruit to the tree (chestnuts=chestnut family) or fruit to leaves, if you see a horse chestnut conker on the tree, next to those big leaves, next time there may be no conkers, but you remember the leaves to assoiating the latin names and common, for example, field maple is Acer campestre, acer is maple, and you camp in a field (camp . . .campestre)
