  1. Be very carefull what you do with hire vehicles because the insurance companies are tightning up on these kind of things. I was hit from the rear by a bus in 2010 and was supplied with a vehicle but now they say (bus company)i should not have received anything and they are refusing to pay. The bus company took over the claim and i was told not to go through my insurance as they would do everthing but by then my insurance had orginised a vehicle and the bus company aggreed to it. This week iv just had to hand over all my bank statements etc due to a court order to see if i could have paid for the hire myself if i could i should have hired my own vehicle they say. Will just have to wait and see what happens but its lucky i have all the correspondents and a good local broker but what a hassle its been.
  2. You will need clearance (costs money)from the roads dept before you use traffic lights unless its an emergency situation.but must have warning signs. Stop go boards are different and you can use them but must be well signed and manned at all times.Be it on your head if there are not manned and there is an incident and your signs are not the measured distance and erected properly. Your hirer should explain the all the details.
  3. I reckon there all the same, promise you the earth but there promise is never fullfilled.
  4. I'll never get taken in with ANY old lady or any old person unless i know them but i once did. We did a job two years ago for one for next to nothing (she lived in a normal house)because she said she didn't have much money.Later i was told by a friend that she had more money than most people would ever have. She died last year and she just happened to leave 9+ Million ,you read that right. There is a moto somewhere but i dont know the words!
  5. I think the guy was moved onto other work after that training fiasco.
  6. They were good when they were new but you needed strong arms if you fitted a front loader to them. Never has a problem with a nash of that era but it depends how the've been treated since then..
  7. Have you checked out the accommodation rates in the Aberdeen area ,they ain't cheap! My chipper was out on hire for £200.00 p/d

  12. Well i'll be keeping my TD5 110 because i can carry more (shelved) items than i can in any 4x4 truck that i have found. The defender lost there way when they put all the electronics in them that is why they lost contracts to the armed forces. Cocept or not a lot of what is there will probably be carried over to production as happens with other items. I think they still make the 300 for export or they did.
  13. Do you pay all there expenses at £10.p/h?
  14. I hope they tweak this one a bit more or is it a case that looks are deceiving!DC100 - Land Rover Defender Concept | Land Rover UK And if this has been posted before i apologise.

  23. Dont they use electric tape approx 200mm away from the barb ? Im with Blazer why do they staple to bushes apart from being cheapskates
  24. There must be something wrong with the fencing if cows are getting a lot of injuries. What length posts do you use? We've put up barbed wire for sheep instead of stock fencing(some farmers dont like stock) but you need 8/10 strands of HT wire to be any good and it works. What stereo is suggesting if im correct is deer fencing style using chicken wire or small mesh stock (because of sheep).,but i dont know any farmer that would pay for that! Oh and things are always greener on the other side or so i'v been told.
  25. I cant see the problem, is he not working for you even if he is self employed he should be covered through you for damages? Same would apply if you employed people through an agency which a lot of people do.
