  1. This 1 on eBay at moment look handy
  2. Must be decent not to snap, would be interested to find out 😜
  3. For ultra low impact you won't go wrong with an iron horse, we use this older version on quite a few thinning jobs where nothing else would get in to extract everything without causing a mess. Also very easy to transport.
  4. Problems with the US stuff is running costs for the big engine, parts availability for the boom, Hi insurance costs and a little more to look at for getting it passed for lola.
  5. I have a landy with a mewp on and it is actually quite good advertising as it stands out a bit as well as being very useful and a huge time saver with the added bonus that it can tow the chipper or grinder to site if we'd needed a 2nd vehicle to go for that anyway.
  6. Ow yes, last mins made it worth while, hope it's an attachment and not dedicated to that job or its a very expensive setup.
  7. Posted this vid in the digger thred but thought it was worth putting here as well, skip to middle.
  8. This is better combining a few of our favorite things, grinder digger and mog.
  9. Nope that just a lot of stuff not a link
  10. You got 9 months, I wish I'd managed that - only 6 for me before the sole started to fall off. Had nearly 2 years from a set of arbtec fell hunters, they have just about had it now but still comfortable just the stitching is going.
  11. Cheers johny kind words indeed 😜Do you think more should have been taken off? Like everything that didn't look like a stump!
  12. Tidy job. never had a go with a long reach, guess you have to take it a bit easier with all that extra boom. Who's mulcher was that, looks newish.
  13. Standards and perception as a whole which doesn't mean we all need to become aa approved contractor but presenting a professional image and trying to do things correctly (whatever that is is still open to interpretation)
  14. Might start applying to do very slight reductions or a 5% thin as almost guaranteed to get passed then sent the apprentice to hack on in that case nd cut of everything that looks like a branch like the customer wanted to get more light instead of wasting valuable time educating them and doing a good job for all involved.
  15. What puzzles me a little about this whole thred having scand over it all again is that many people who have contributed care about doing a good job, presenting a professional image and trying to educate the public and in doing so get arb the recognition as a skilled profession that it deserves and in doing that hopefully get the public more willing to pay what we would realy like them to. But and it's a big but when someone is doing the opposite and presenting out industry badly for whatever reason it's the old ' not my problem ' attitude that comes out which is a real shame. Just my opinion so let the abuse begin.
  16. Found out how, cost a fortune to set up this rig!
  17. That's just strange being able to twist round and look behind you view point. Didnt get it at 1st but interesting the 2nd time. Wounder how it works.
  18. Bet he's in hid box feeling very sorry for himself now, poor wee pup.
  19. ^^👍👍^^ Makes you wonder why we bother with applications when they won't follow up this sort of work when no application was placed, why wait just crack on and do it.
  20. Pictures say it all.
  21. Am I allowed to post a picture of a reduction with spikes I spotted when out pricing some council work yesterday? No name or shame just picture of tree in con are.
  22. How many hrs you clocked up on that chipper now?
  23. That's ridiculous, hope he gets to keep it like it is.
  24. Wouldn't be without mine! We were shifting pine brash out of a garden today and each trip with the trolley was about 8 trips by hand worth. Timber we had 3 bits on which were 2 man lifts to load and unload but saved a lot of cutting up. On the rite job with the rite attitude it's a real winner and time/effort saver even if it's just carrying all the rigging gear onto site. Not sure about the bag as use a 4ft x 4ft bit of stock board shoved into the pins to pile rakings or ringed up timber into as it's almost indestructible. Get it you won't regret it!
  25. Chin up old boy could have been a lot worse, could have been jaffa cakes, they realy do burn well! Hopefully your kids be ok in morning and you can crack on and have a good productive day tomorrow.
