  1. They look snotty horrible trees ham. Plenty of timber to shift!
  2. The app already has the future Mr bears. Probably ment for stealth reading in bed so the phone screen isn't as bright but really makes reading the forum on my phone easier.
  3. No longer needed as he's left the forum :-(
  4. Youd think so wouldn't you! Main office - sorry we won't cover modified vehicles... Local office - landrover cherrypicker, no problem, what model hight size make age modifications, no problem. Nfu for yard tractor 700+ Trust/aviva 350. :-?
  5. A little dedicated off so realy not sure but the church is panicking it's going to fall, any ideas.
  6. Can you make it possible to flip the main site as well as the app from dark writing on light background to white writing on black background as this makes reading it so much easier for dyslexics like myself.
  7. With the nfu it really depends on the person at different locations as to what you get offered, 1 office said no to my cherrypicker but another said no problem and sorted it.
  8. Too true!👍
  9. Still hard if he's having a bad patch I guess as emotional things can be just as hard if not harder to handle and identify than physical. Diet and medicine keep him stable for the most part but things get a little complicated if he gets ill from something else which can often results in an overnight in hospital to monitor his blood ammonia levels. Now-a-days I make sure the lads are aware of a few drop onto jobs for regular clients just incase I have to dash off or don't make it in at any point so as not to loose a days work. Stroke at 48, scary ain't it!
  10. That's the problem Stephen, when it comes to my kids I don't bite my tongue and can realy let fly so am often given a good talking too by the wife before things such as parents evenings. Apparently I can be incredibly rude while still being charming and polite so they really don't know how to take it.
  11. His is life long genetic defect which effects what his body can process so we have to be very careful with his protein intake but because for the most part he's a normal 5year old which seems to make them forget his care plan and I'm getting a bit fed up with having to fight them.
  12. Had a lot of pressure at the moment, son's been into hospital again and taken a while to bounce back, school is making things difficult with him and his diet so having to fight them a bit, having to go vat registered and back date it as didn't realise I'd crossed the line, pressure to finish some ongoing contracts that the weather isn't help with but overall actually feeling quite positive at the moment that thing are going in the rite direction be it hard work doing so.
  13. Was starting to think the nfu were getting a bit on the expensive side when they quoted me 700+ for my little massy loader yard tractor for over 25 year driver with only occasional Road use incase we want it on a winching job. Especially when I pay the same for a landy cherrypicker with a twin Road and work policy and twice the value!
  14. Prep most of your records yourself which you should be doing anyway as it makes your end of year tax calculations easier and let's you know how your business is doing, submit this to your accountant who will process it and submit on your behalf, shouldn't take them long tops 2 hrs @£25 ph mine charges isn't realy that much. Add ed benefit of a good accountant doing it for you is being able to pay them a couple of hundred a year insurance so should you get an tax or vat inspection they deal with it and fight your case as it's also defending them.
  15. When I've done them I find if I cut the blank about 2"longer than the saw bar then cut along the length of the log rather than down the grain as it cuts faster and noodles the shavings rather than fine dust which is good for helping light the candle, either hold in a log jaw or cut a v in a larger block of wood and sit in that.
  16. Sham I've got ears that those just won't stay in, got a set at home about the same price which are like a pair of ear defenders, no sound escapes so the rest of the house won't suffer my music while typing up work on the laptop.
  17. Not quite as much but still made crossing from swaledale into Wensleydale interesting thismorning. Cold crisp clear morning. Perfect for a quick bit of pricing.
  18. Find out what a new 1 would be and about half that, it'll never drop much more than that if it's in working condition, good machines and easy to work on and fix.
  19. I'm like that with my old landy 130, would take a bad day to get shot of her, just keep rebuilding, not that sentimental about other gear but I think it'd be different if I was selling as I needed to free up money rather than to upgrade, that'd be harder!
  20. On flat rait scheme no you can't claim the vat on fuel or consumables and I believe on hired in equipment only on capital expenditure like vehicle and machinery, not sure how it's an advantage to most of us but my accountant said definitely not worth for me after running my books for the past few years, better of on normal scheme especially since a good 75% of my turnover is comersial or private comersial so making very little difference to them.
  21. I've just had the same but having to back date registration as tipped over the threshold on the rolling 12month basis without realising, talking to the accountant we are actually going to be a lot better off and when I've gon and told some of my regular big clients they have allowed me to send them a backdated vat invoice which is a big relief!! + the reclaim of vat on assets still owned going back 4 years so a decent reanbursment to go into some new bits of gear. Like you said to commercial clients it won't make any difference and private you just give them a total price and it's up to you in you only raise it by say 10% nd swallow the other 10% or just up it by what you think you'll get away with. Another good thing is it will stop me worrying about big hired in plant bills to keep turnover down or just subbing jobs nd taking a skim off the top as I'd tried to avoid that as quickly boosted turnover without mega profit.
  22. Now now we'll have less of that!!
  23. Nice job, looks like something had a good chew at your finger, tree silky or chains?
  24. No its quiet as anything, no wine or clatter at all just a pig to change from high to low and back again.
  25. Cheers bob, I'll go fishing today if I can find my magnet thing. Is it a take apart job to refit or can it be done in situe, the internals of gear box's is new territory for me.
